I consider these games to have the lowest replay value of any of the "big games" but the initial playthrough is k-rad just to see what crazy shit they throw at you. Great rental.

Wouldn't be surprised if many prestigious top ten film lists feature this title alongside some of the heavyweight works of art like Drive or Super 8. Definitely changed the way I think about this medium we call videogames.

That's ridiculous; it's like the reviewer didn't play 50% of the game. He mentions the same control issues he found and nothing more. Uncharted multi is not only different from those FPS games mentioned, but there's co-op as well.

That review focuses on the story far too much and barely touches on the game play. They should stick to movies.

Thats true, forgot it was made available early. Considering how poorly the first month if it was regarded then it's probably a good thing it wasnt reviewed.

I rented this from Blockbuster and it's pretty cool so far. It even had the instruction manual so I was able to use the Online pass. Woo! Anyone wanna play co-op or do some versus?

it's nice that they include some directly comparable environments shared between the three uncharted games (four if you included the Vita one).

Uncharted 1 already looked like plastic butt compared to Uncharted 2. Uncharted 3 isn't as obvious or massive an improvement, except for them shiny eyes getting fixed, and there's some pop in and funky animation with the collision detection that's straight up groping dudes in AssCreed 1, but it still looks pretty crazy and I kinda want to play it in 3D. There're a bunch of parts that scream "meant for 3D."

Game is great so far (Chapter 8 or something). Although the Uncharted-isms are getting tiring. oh boy I'm climbing a pole! gee I wonder if it will break! what a rush. Melee seems a lot more useful now. Areas so far are really dense so you can really be punching dudes without having another jackass shoot you from behind. Shooting feels better too, once you get past the unusually slow camera movement even at maximum speed.

Batman AA/AC has like the most satisfying feeling melee combat, so yeah. Ineptitude of Uncharted melee comes out when it's the focus and not just something between shooting people...which is why a giant brawl felt dumb and what.

As a shooter, Uncharted 3 is solid, if not mostly the same as its ever been. I can do without the fisticuff QTEs, which play like a bargain bin version of the fighting from Batman: Arkham City. It's especially silly how you have to keep fighting the same big guy over and over, as if Uncharted 3 needs to keep saying, "Hey, remember how cool this bit was in Raider of the Lost Ark?" Uncharted 3 says that a lot. But the gunplay is good, and it provides a solid foundation for the mostly typical multiplayer support. You get lots of options for leveling up, customizing your characters, and playing various types of cooperative and competitive games. There's even a competitive/cooperative mode in which two teams of two players take turns playing the heroes and playing special thugs amid all the AI thugs.

But as an overall package, Uncharted 3 is mostly filler without gameplay. It's the modern equivalent of those full motion video games folks made back in the 90s when new CD-ROMs afforded all that storage space. So developers shot video footage, grafted it onto various games (usually puzzle collections), and a genre was born. Who cares whether there was an actual game in there? We were watching actual real video featuring celebrities like Mark Hamill, Dennis Hopper, Rob Schneider, and whoever the chick was in that Phantasmagoria game! She was famous, wasn't she? I forget.
