I hope so, then when they get past this romance stuff that's from a million other anime it'll get more interesting.

I think the style of it is really good. It feels like a 1970s TV anime. The characters are good too. ep3 was just a little weak I thought because of all the typical romance miscommunication trope stuff.

And yes, Tsuritama is the show about fishing with lots of cool water animation.

I'm watching ten shows right now:

1. Lupin III: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine [stylish and cool all the way around]
2. Space Brothers [really good show, needs more outerspace though]
3. Tsuritama [weird but fun]
4. Mysterious Girlfriend X [really weird but fun]
6. Kids on the Slope [not the greatest show, but very enjoyable and the jazz angel is nice]
5. Jormungand [would be higher if the production values and direction were better]
7. Dusk Maiden of Amnesia [Shaft-esque guff with some supernatural stuff]
8. Zetman [cliched with a rushed plot, but still a good enough show to watch; love those throwback character designs]
9. Accel World [kinda okay, but it seems to be settling into fight-of-the-week nonsense that I don't care about]
10. Sankarea [currently on the cusp, I've only watched the first episode]

Eureka Seven AO has been great so far btw. I missed this art style.

10 bit h.264 = new method in encoding videos = better quality + small file size

It should be no problem if you have the latest CCCP + recent graphics driver update.

FMA movie #2:

Great art & animation. A lot of the action is ridiculously fluid and very well storyboarded. The problem is unlike Sword of the Stranger where the awesome action is awesome because you're invested in the fights outside of the animation aspect, here because the story is super meh and rushed and your usual weak anime movie, there's no attachment to anything going on so all the great animation feels like a waste. It's like watching an AMV of awesome animation scenes, but with story bits between them. It's not a bad bad movie. Better in story than the last FMA movie, but it's pretty average which is sad because the animation is soooo good. Guess I'd still recommend it if you've seen the series.

-Lupin III: Fujiko is a slut and fucks everybody, even Zenigata, and steals shit edition
-Jormungand (oddly enjoyable)
-Dusk Maiden of Amnesia (fun story)
-Moretsu Pirates (still going on from last season...26 episode series)
-Shining Hearts: Shiawase No Pan UGUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUuuuu
-Queen's Blade Rebellion for some outrageously-embarrassing stupid combat n' titties
-Medaka Box (does this go anywhere?)

Haven't watched Zetman past the first episode yet. Dunno why. I think it's finding out that the manga is way, way longer and in-depth. My wife really likes Moretsu Pirates, Jormungand, and Shining Hearts, which is incredibly slow-paced.

My favorite recent show is still The Daily Lives Of High School Boys. Nothing as fun as that is on this season.

I hate that they made Zenigata a scumbag corrupt cop in this version of Lupin. I'm ok with most of the other character changes, but Zenigata is a good guy in Lupin, and that's just a dick move to make it more "edgy".

Eventually it becomes grim-dark shounen stuff, though I guess it's up to you as to whether that counts as "going anywhere."

And Jormugand's main problem is the flat direction and too-low budget. Nothing wrong with a little senseless violence.

Eureka Seven AO ep4

Holy shit. This episode was amazing. Best TV anime episode I've seen in a while. It felt like the best eps of the 90s/early 00s great anime. Direction, music, writing, animation were all perfect. There wasn't a single stain of modern anime's terrible tropes and fanservices contained within the ep. It was just channeling pure classic anime goodness. So good!!!

Any of you ever watched Macross 7? Thinking about watching it this summer since it's the only Macross I haven't seen. I know the music is popular and the main guy Basara is cool, but there's like 49 ep TV show, a movie, an encore OAV, dynamite OAV; that's a lot of Mac 7! Especially since from what I know from the games it's been in, it doesn't really have a lot of plot. I'm curious if it's actually a good show?

Also kind of weird that despite how popular Macross is, there's only been 3 Macross TV shows with the original, Mac7, and MacF. You'd think it'd be more like Gundam with a new Macross every 3-4 years.

Everything I've heard about Macross 7 is that it's terrible, and that coming from people that like the rest of the franchise. Neither Shoji Kawamori nor Noboru Ishoguro really had much to do with it, although the former was credited as "story concept and supervisor" which I would imagine amounted to not very much.

I actually had the whole thing on Chinese bootleg DVD that I bought ages ago because it looked interesting but then never watched it beyond a few minutes of the first episode.
