Why are they fucking up the Promised Neverland anime? They literally just had to follow the manga. I planned on binging s2 once it was over, but now I think I'll just skip it altogether.

High Rise Invasion is ridiculous and amazing and everyone should watch it. Looking forward to the 2nd season.

Pacific Rim Black is okay and has potential I guess. The 3D animation isn't janky so I approve. Hopefully these first few eps were just like a setup or something and future seasons will be more exciting.

4 eps left until I'm done with Noblesse and I'm guessing it wasn't too popular? 5 years old and still no 2nd season?
Edit: Nvm, it just aired last fall. Google fail on my part.

Not sure what I'll watch next, but I'm going for short to mid length shows that are streaming on one of the popular services. Nothing with a 100+ episodes for me right now.

Yashahime: Half-Demon Princess

Just watched episode 23 which was basically a plot dump, then I learn watching the preview that 24 is apparently the last episode?!?

A lot of people are pulling for a “season 2” but this has gotten TERRIBLE reviews and even reactions from the InuYasha fanbase. I don’t see how a season 2 happens, which means episode 24 is truly the series finale.

“Sesshomaru’s Daughter” is the final episode’s title. The references and bits of fanservices to the old series have been fun and appealing, not gonna lie, but I didn’t think it’d be over so soon. If this 24 episode series is all I have to judge, Yashahime is a startling failure compared to InuYasha: A Feudal Fairy Tale.

I had assumed my love of Zoids Chaotic Century/Guardian Force (originally watched at 5-6am before school, would set my alarm earlier than my mom would get me up just to watch this show) would be mostly nostalgia and the show wouldn't hold up, but damn if this isn't a legit fucking action scene.

Skip to the 3/4 mark and this shit is intense.

Ha, speaking of Togashi. I had to look this up, I always forget about that first Toguro appearance lol. I always think of the Dark Tourney first.

FWIW Togashi's inclusion and depiction of Alluka in the latter part of HxH is refreshing for trans representation in any media. She's been one of my favorite characters partly for that reason.

Despite Yusuke's dealing of her (he's supposed to be pigheaded in any case), Miyuki of the Triad also offered a surprisingly nuanced and sympathetic view for something from the 90's (reminds me of Bill Murray's char in Ed Wood.)

Yeah the pacing really grabs you. Even if you're not feeling a particular arc you never have to wait too long. And I love how everything kinda builds on eachother naturally (character relationships, worldbuilding, plot developments, etc.), it always feels like there's real consequences because we get to see various permanent status quo changes. HxH takes that to another level actually lol (with pacing sometimes suffering in comparison.)

One minor detriment: the fan in me loves that Genkai gets brought back but the storyteller is a bit disappointed -- her death was *so* well done. And IIRC she had served pretty much her whole purpose by then too, and doesn't do much after she comes back.

Was hesitant to watch Shadows House because it looked like it was going to be ultra-cutesy uguuuuu~ every day life in weird gothic house, and while it initially is exactly this, it turns into something much more and the story hooked me enough that I went and read up to chapter 45 of the manga series. What's going on is pretty predictable, but the politics of the house kind of change things up.

Edens Zero: Was wondering what happened to this- turns out that Netflix got it. Not going to wait for half of or the entire season to finish before Netflix 'Murica puts it up, so watching fansubs. I enjoy the manga series- it's nothing new and is very much more One Piece-style story from the same guy who did the "also like OP" Groove Adventure Rave/Ravemaster and Fairy Tail mangas. Even has the same blue cat from FT.
