There's a "foodie" culture thing going on that is pretty obnoxious, though it does bring in a lot of good restaurants.

true.  i have a place a block away that gives you an upper thigh sized burrito and huge horchata for about $7, which will make you puke if you finish it. 

but sometimes, i just drive and get me some grainy shit beef + cheese + volcano sauce in a dyed tortilla with some baja mountain dew.  if there were a cinnabon next door, i'd get it for dessert
