raiden's situation is actually a little understandable. he knows nothing going in, then it all goes crazy on him. Whereas snake has killed metal gear 50 times, yet in his mind, it still can't be.

my whole problem with Raiden was the whiny anime voice and his semi-bishonen looks. i mean, he sounds not unlike Otacon.

at least, when I watched the cutscenes in the game when i played it for the first time.

anyway, no kamiya = ok, wait to see more of this. I hope they at least speed it up cause i was serious, it looks like slow bayonetta. his back cartwheel even looks like one of her dancing moves

i can identify with that feeling...having been put through a 2 hour cutscene with him and naomi in MGS4.

she was really the worst part of 4. well, her or Eva. Both just got reduced to bumbling, stereotypically emotional women in that game.

Twin Snakes is okay. The lack of balance created by MGS2 features without changing a lick of the original's design didn't stop me from playing that game like 6 times in a row across several difficulty modes to 100% every thing.

I'm too slow? MGS3 is slow as molasses. You have to sit in the grass for minutes at a time memorizing guard routines.

When you get caught, the alarm sounds off for almost 2 minutes.

Due to the absence of radar, you never know if a guard is nearby, so you have to use your sound radar or something similar to locate patrols.

The game is great, but it's really fucking slow.

I think MGS stealth works better indoors too. Kojima's camera/controls/inventory management are too archaic for large outdoor environments.

MGS4 was fine in this regard, actually, due to the new guard sensor thing. It's the perfect balance between no radar and having to sit in the fucking grass or tree trunk for five fucking minutes monitoring guard patrols.

I didn't have a problem with MGS3 stealth. I didn't rely heavily on the radar. It was more fun to learn enemy patterns, the environment, and create plan to get past a situation unnoticed. I think that's the case with every stealth game, except in MGS3 there is more planning and camo management (which could get tedious when you're moving from grass to wall to different wall).

the only stealth game that was "too slow" for me was Portable Ops, because 80% of that game is dragging bodies, and the camera was awful, and it has bunch of other problems.

I am optimistic. would have liked it if they retained their gung ho attitude towards shit getting cut, but it looks nicely adrenaline fueled in the few snippets they've shown. Hopefully it's representative of the game and not just the videos that play in between.

Apparently it's not. Shigenori Nishikawa was MadWorld, Masaki Yamanaka is doing Anarchy. The gameplay looks more Kamiya to me tho.
