yeah, oculus rift is a single large screen with optics (unlike Sony's headset that uses a two small screens per eye). According to wiki it's a 1280x800 screen, and the consumer version is shooting for 1080p. Can't imagine any console using a headset for VR. At best a way for the 3D image to fill your field of view.
I think one of the forza games (2?) had multi-monitor support, but it required multiple 360s.
