THQ has said it has no further plans for uDraw after it revealed that the failed expansion of its tablet peripheral to PS3 and Xbox 360 has cost it $80 million in lost revenue.

Speaking during an investor call after the publication of its dismal third-quarter results, the publisher said it had shipped a million uDraw tablets to retailers, leaving 1.4 million units of manufactured stock left unsold.

1.4million? :lol

if THQ has 1.4 million Udraw's warehoused, how many are on store shelves still unsold?
I mean, dammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmn that is bad, bad, bad.

I really want THq to stick around, they've got too many good developers on their hook and theirs would be a crushing loss to the industry.

It's cheap everywhere right now. Funny that they extrapolated a market on PS3 and 360 from its performance on Wii. Way to go, Marketing!

The hardware sales wouldn't be so worrying for the Vita if the software was actually selling, but I think total software sales might actually be LOWER than the hardware sales.

My first example of pulling the "hardcore" card was as a kid when graphic adventures came around and displaced text adventures. I felt they were dumbing down the genre.  :)

My man.

True, but that's NOTHING compared to the holy war of KQV/SQIV replacing the text parser with a graphical interface...

Some interesting info from UK

http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/revealed-the-real-size-of-the-uk-games-market/091345
Quote
The High Street may be having a tough time, but the UK games market is still incredibly healthy, MCV research shows today.

For the first time, we can reveal the true value of the UK games market, showing that consumers spent over £3bn on their hobby in 2011.

It's proof that mobile, downloads and licensed toys are picking up the slack as other parts of the market soften.

This impressive figure – £3.226bn to be precise -  includes data on online, mobile, and merchandising.

And it flies in the face of conventional wisdom which says market shrinkage hit during the last 12 months.

In fact, when you combine data from some of the most respected research agencies, as we have below, you see game brands are more powerful than ever, even if the core High Street is facing some of its most challenging trading weeks.

Add online revenues to boxed market data and it’s clear digital made up 30 per cent of a £2bn UK software market last year.
2011 was also a watershed year for spin-off toys, DVDs and soundtracks, making £70m in revenue last year.

...THAT'S A MARKET WORTH AT LEAST £3.266 BILLION.
(And 30% bigger than the allegedly 'declining' UK market figures published in January)

Fantastic PC (and soon Xbox 360) RPG, The Witcher 2, sold 1,110,055 copies last year, developer CD Projekt Red has revealed.

Of those copies, 270,000 were sold via digital distribution platforms: 40,000 on GOG.com, which leaves the lion's share of the remainder presumably to Steam (numbers not disclosed).
But most "remarkable" to CDPR managing director Adam Badowski, was that 401,543 copies of The Witcher 1 were sold last year.

Media Create Sales Stats: Vita 3G vs Wi-Fi, 3DS vs GBA vs DS
http://andriasang.com/con03o/media_create_stats/

UK data has started trickling

Quote
PlayStation Vita launch title Uncharted: Golden Abyss has claimed top spot in the new UK all-format charts.

Vita exclusive FIFA Football was second.

The two games accounted for 50 per cent of the total Vita software sold last week. There were 23 launch titles in total.

Other Vita games managing a place in the top 40 included WipEout 2048 (11th place), Ridge Racer (28th) and Everybody's Golf (32nd). And multi-platform game Rayman Origins shot up from 36th to 5th after the release of its Vita version.

Full chart track PR
Quote
Almost a year after Nintendo’s 3DS launch (week 12, 2011) and we welcome Sony’s Vita hand-held, available in Wi-Fi and 3G versions (79% of Vita sales in week 1 were for the Wi-Fi version).

There are 23 Vita launch titles at retail (compared to 16 for 3DS week 1), but 2 key Vita titles account for 50% of sales units and lie at No1 & No2 on the All Formats Chart. Sony’s Vita ‘Uncharted: Golden Abyss’ is the new No1 (31% of week 1 Vita sales) and EA’s Vita ‘FIFA Football’ is the new No2 (18% of Vita sales).

In comparison, the week 1 No1 on 3DS ‘Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition’ accounted for 15% of 3DS week 1 software sales. Last week’s No1, THQ’s ‘UFC Undisputed 3’ drops to No3 (-53%) and Ubisoft’s ‘Rayman Origins’ climbs 31 places to No5 (+197%), powered by a new Vita version, No4 on the Vita Top 20.

The biggest non-Vita launch is EA’s re-boot of UK developer Bullfrog’s ‘Syndicate’ which debuted back in week 26, 1993 for Amiga and PC. The new ‘Syndicate’ is Swedish (developed by StarBreeze) and debuts here at No7 for 360/PS3/PC.

The next new entry at No11 is Sony’s Vita ‘Wipeout 2048’, actually No3 on the Vita Top 20. Following on from that we have Nintendo’s Wii ‘The Last Story’ at No15, developed by Mistwalker, the studio of Hironobu Sakaguchi, creator of the Final Fantasy series of videogames.

New at No17 is Bethesda’s ‘Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition’ which contains all mission expansion add-on packs.
UFC3 last week sales were about 33k,according to gaf pal sales genius

System A sell 1,000 units.
System A sells 1 game
Game X accounts for 100% of the games sold

What is the attach rate?

Heres the algebre:

System = A
you didn't assign a variable to the 1 game so we'll call it Y
game x sold 100% of the games sold
so since u didn't define X as Y, youre saying that Y sold 1 game. X could be ap reorder that was sold with every console therefore
X= A
X= 1,000
