Kind of a weak month compared to the last few, although I don't know much about the discounted games.  I feel bad for anyone who buys CS on a console, though.

I downloaded it from the European PSN the other day and it's alright. Like with most side-scrolling brawlers it's not very fun to play single-player.

I used to love the Kunio-kun/Renegade game, so I was pretty hopeful. The demo didn't set me on fire, unfortunately.

Lost in Nightmares and Desperate Escape aren't in the PC version?

in that case, I'll snag it.  those are fun.  i would want mercs also, but that would require playing the game again...

It looks very similar to Supercar Challenge which had an incredibly steep learning curve. If you own a racing wheel and know how to use it, you'll probably have fun. It was way too difficult for my racing simulation skills. I prefer driving less powerful cars.

Bioshock 2 is the game of the month for North America.

yay.

i'm noticing a trend that heavily discounted big titles from a long time ago tend to be the free games.

they're not gonna "give away" anything good while all those free 3-month cards from the holiday bundles are still floating around out there

this seems to be the pattern they're going to follow: a bunch of good stuff around E3 so they'll have something to shill onstage for more subscriptions, and for the rest of the year just enough added to keep people clinging to those subscriptions

Seems Europe gets all the sweet PS+ stuff:

5th December: Batman: Arkham City (PS3)
5th December: LIMBO (PS3)
5th December: Vanquish (PS3)
12th December: Big Sky Infinity (PS Vita and PS3)
19th December: Mortal Kombat (PS Vita)
21st December: Knytt Underground (PS Vita and PS3)

Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised when I saw AE because I never bought it since I double dipped on SSFIV and AE was only a slight upgrade from that.

Then I saw it was 19 gig download and that means you need 35-40 gigs to download & install it and I was like  :'(  I usually have about 50gigs free on my PS3, and I dunno if I want to use half of that up just to have AE around when who knows if I'll ever play it.

Downloadable X720/PS4 games are a pipe dream until these consoles come with 1tb HDDs and have steam-like download speeds/install managers.

Why is Rochard going down already? Weird for it to be only up for a week. Was hoping to avoid reapplying for PSN for another week or two (it finally ran out a few weeks ago).

....then again Rochard might not be worth the effort  ???

good so far.   I played through MGS2 and some of the VR missions.  It's a little weird at first to press on the screen to bring up the item and weapon menus, but the game was perfectly accurate at selecting stuff.  I think those are the only mandatory touch controls.  They have optional ones for some stuff involving the back touch pad.  I hear MGS3 may have some more invasive touch controls, but I haven't played much of that yet.

also, MGS2 is mostly 30fps.  Goes up to 60 when there's absolutely no water or lighting effects on screen.  So the VR missions seem to hold 60fps.  I can't say the framerate ever got in the way though.  It doesn't get choppy or unresponsive anything.

So, not perfect like the console versions, but not as bad as, say, retrofitting it with wii controls.

Anyone got experience with the Japanese PS+?  I was just looking at their shit on my account and it actually looks pretty good, a very different selection of games from the USA one.  I remember reading somewhere that the games themselves expire after some time, but I couldn't really find anything on the page to verify that, so maybe it was just some pro journalist making a translation error or something?

If Sony were to create some sort of PS++ on the PS4 that was more expensive but improved game selection and gave me a passable Gaikai streamed collection of old titles I`d probably just subscribe to that and only buy the odd dirt cheap PC game.

Sony is sending $10 PSN credit to some people.  Check your inbox on your PS3 (online and Vita doesn't work, apparently) to see if it's there.  Make sure it's an official one.

How are the MGS games on the Vita? I may pick those up.

good so far.

How did they handle all that pressure sensitivity for the regular PSV buttons?? What about the fact that those games have quite a few moves which require up to 4 simultaneous button presses which already was barely doable on a Dual Shock, how awful are those to perform on the PSV?
