I had a Tekken-loving friend pop over yesterday and we played the balls off this game. We decided to grind for customization money so he hit up Arcade mode, HOLY SHIT were the final bosses tossing his salad. Apparently the difficulty setting does NOT affect arcade mode, which throws opponents at you at difficulty levels that match the character's ranking.
Meaning: He plays a really mean Lili and jumped up a couple ranks on my profile, so all his Arcade mode opponents were freaking beasts. So if I ever play as Lili I'm just gonna get pooped on 
I had no trouble with Unknown...I'm telling you guys- pick Alisa as one of your characters and SPAM her b, b 3+4, 3+4 and its follow-ups like df+3, 3, 3. I beat the shit out of the bosses, easy. Remember that the first character you pick is whose ending you get...so just use Alisa as a partner and spam spam spam spam those fucking AI bastards to death.
Forget about arcade mode for grinding anyway. You only get a shitload of money for beating it the first time. Ghost Battle is the fastest way to get cash, and even then as you rank up, the bonus reward matches get fewer in number.
What really SUCKS is that every character has clothing that MUST be unlocked from winning the gold reward battles...and getting this stuff appears to be random. It's taking forever to get everything for even just one character.
