I barely got any sleep last night so I played through some of my 3DS titles.
Super Mario 3D Land is pretty cool. This game seems designed for bite size gaming where you can play a level or two and then turn it off and move on to something else.
New Super Mario Bros. 2 isn't that bad. Going from impressions here, I expected the worst. This game is still much better than the amateur hour known as the first NSMB. Definitely not a classic but I'll still be beating this game. Very easy, I have about 2000 coinz and about 35 lives. I see they even have a three digit life counter. They're not even pretending that these games aren't cakewalks.
Mario Tennis Open is pretty decent. I had a lot of fun with the N64 game which is why I picked this up. Probably a game I will get to later.
Legend of Zelda seems pretty fun. I never beat the original on the N64 so this is my first time where I try to beat it. I was too poor to afford the game and once I had any kind of income, I was onto the Dreamcast or PlayStation 2. Never had time to go back until now.
Mario Kart 7 is probably the best Mario Kart in the series. I really held the DS version in high esteem and the Wii version was a step or two back from that but this one is pretty nice.
I played a shitload of Starfox 64 back when I had it on the N64 and this is a pretty good port of it.
Theatrhythm is pretty uguu but I've heard good things from others so I'll stick it out.
I'll continue my impressions in the 'what are you playing' thread but this handheld isn't bad. The 3D is nice when I'm laying in bed, which is probably when I will do most of my 3DS gaming. Seems to be the perfect angle to have 3D without having to contort myself to make the effects work. I still want to get Samurai Warriors, Ghost Recon, Tales of the Abyss, and Shinobi. Plus there are a few games coming up that I want so I didn't make a bad choice when getting this handheld. My general rule is that I don't get a console or a handheld unless there are 10 games I want to buy for it.
