I lol'd pretty hard at this announcement. A friend of mine was desperate for a sequel and the news that it was WiiU exclusive was simply delicious to reveal to him.

Oh that's excellent.

And it's got to be a timed exclusive, unless Ninty threw serious proper money at them, and that's dollars not rupees. Which is equally infuckingsane. Why throw huge buckets of money onto such a left-field IP. Even Vanquish 2 wouldve been a sounder choice if they really wanted to score.

Bayonetta 2 was already pretty far into development, then was cancelled by Sega. Kamiya then went on to start making P-100/Wonderful 101. Nintendo probably got to talking with Kamiya and agreed to bankroll the rest of Bayo 2's development in exchange for exclusivity. Sega was like "We could use the cash, why not?"

Highly unlikely Bayo 2 is going anywhere else this gen.

Why are people so mad over this? As far as we know, this would never have been released without Nintendo stepping in.

No release at all > release on a console you don't like???

I guess a big part of the target group Bayonetta 2 is not really interested in a Xbox360+, but still it's dumb to complain if the game would not have come out otherwise at all.

Hate Nintendo? No. It's more like, no one wants to spend 350 dollars on a system that is getting mostly ports of games we've already played and since Nintendo consoles since the N64 have had ABYSMAL third party support, and no one trusts Nintendo to shell out quality software we're mad it's coming to a system no one who has the hd twins even remotely wants unless they have kids.

just wait it out. you'll be able to get a machine for cheap soon enough, plus there will probably be a couple of other good games at that point. Same with the wii. bought that shit for $30 n played all them five games I wanted to play.

Yeah, isn't this a hardcore forum where we end up owning all these systems eventually anyhow?

Wii U is the first console I'm skipping at launch since the PS1.  But I'll still get it a year or two down the line when Bayo 2 comes out and the system is cheaper and has a half-dozen worthwhile games.

Considering Wii U is going to bomb and be irrelevant in t-minus two years - at the most - that's sage advice. Instead of buying it, I'll borrow my friend's Wii U, assuming he doesn't sell it in a garage sale because he was tired of using it as a coaster.

Is it just me or does scooping up Bayonetta 2 seem like Nintendo's attempt at pleasing the "core" by releasing this much sought-after game on their upcoming flagship system?

The only reason I have to doubt this is that even among hardcore gamers, Bayonetta is not overwhelmingly popular.

My stance on systems is this. If there are 1 or 2 games I want on a system then I will probably get that system. Fanboy stuff doesn't factor. I'm only a fanboy for one system and that's the PS2.

I bought a Wii finally when Xenoblade was coming out in the UK. I had wanted to play that and No More Heroes. Till this day I own about 9 Wii games and with the release of The Last Story I don't really see that number going up. Still I got a few games that I really liked out of it and thus the system was worth it to me. I've played it the least, no doubt, but it was still worthwhile.

I'm no Nintendo fan, never have been. Their IPs have no interests to me and their style is not for me. But you know if they throw me a bone, I'll probably take it. Bayo 2 is them throwing me a bone honestly. I really enjoyed the 1st one and really want a Sequel. So for me, the Wii U is of some note because it achieved the most simple accomplishment. It has a game I want to play. Sure it sucks the system's capabilities will be a bit weak, but I don't care. I sit up here and play PS2 games still and think they look great on my old tube tv. As long as your graphics are well done, I'll probably think the game looks good forever.

Either way, I doubt Bayo 2 will be a launch title and hopefully by the time it does come out, I can afford the system.

Again, the game would probably not exist if it wasn't for that piece of shit overpriced manchild fodder machine made by the company you all love to hate.

The only ones to hate here are Sega (not really, because it would be dumb for them to release another money sink) or hardcore fans that cry for innovation&new ips but don't buy em when they actually get them.

Classic Nintendo.

Instead of moneyhatting a big game with all that cash they've got heck even get some DLC for CoD or something. They instead buy a game that is niche at best. I adore Bayo but it is not and never will be a system seller.

Although with Sega's money situation Nintendo probably got it for cheap

Oscar- there's also the whole thing about how, you know, if you liked the original and owned a 360 you were set to play the sequel up until the shitcanning, but now if you REALLY want to play it you'll have to shell out $300+ for a system with a very sketchy future and not a lot of other games on the horizon you might be looking forward to.

But yeah, I mean, we should all totally be licking Nintendo's ball sack for this.  Sure.

DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR BECAUSE THIS IS ALSO SOMETHING WE USUALLY MOCK NINTARDS FOR.

Who said this?

Seriously though, Bayo 2 is not on the wrong system. It's just not on a system I have interest in buying. And I'm fine with that. I'll play it somehow anyways. Do you guys have friends who always buy Nintendo hardware? Borrow their wii u for a weekend when it drops.

Obviously people acting like that are tardbuckets, but I think a perfectly reasonable reaction to the news is "Well, I guess that's cool; I kind of wanted to play that but not enough to justify a purchase of a shitty system with a sketchy future aside from Nintendo 1st party releases"

I plan on playing it eventually as I enjoyed the first one but it's not a priority for me; if we get a Sigma style port (doubtful, I know) obviously I'm more likely to play it sooner.  If we don't, I imagine it will be another title I use to justify the purchase of a Zelda machine after a few price drops.
