I wish the ygot rid of half the radio stations and just put more osngs in or something. The pop station is so fukkin good but its only got like 9 songs.

I already know it's banger because it has MODJO on it. And yeah, they really are wearing themselves thin. GTAIV had the same problem.

Fucking Larry Tupper.

spoiler (click to show/hide)
I have a thing where I don't look up shit normally on a first playthrough. I  don't generally unless its just information to explain a mechanic or something I'm not understanding. So whatever I run  across is whatever I get. And years later if I want to do a playthrough and see all the shit I missed I'm fine with looking all the shit up then. But I could not fucking find his location on the map. I must have spent like an hour and half flying around the map or looking at the map trying to decipher that location. I finally got fed up and looked it up because I want to do more bounty hunter missions but for some reason I was blind to that location. I would have never found it.

Looking at some of the property you can buy. I'm assuming that GTA Online will have a direct affect on the BAWSAQ market. I mean 20m? I doubt most people are going to come even remotely close to that.

ha, I came to post the exact same thing.  I think I saw one for $120mil and I have around $1.4mil among the three.

I did some missions with Franklin where you could exploit the market and nearly double your money.  Now I'm feeling like I did those too early.

You just have to give it to the cult once for an achievement, otherwise you just get cash.

This is because most random events give you, well, jack shit for a reward. And most of hte people Trevor picks up are whiny stooges.

yeah, the only guy I did it with was this drunk driver.  one day I'll parachute into that place and see what's going on with the cult, unless there's a mission that takes me there first.

One of them was a chick that gave me 100k a day later.

um, I might've given her too.  did she go on about toe shoes? she was on my way to chiliad and wanted to go to the top of the map.  my destination and the cult were nearby, so for the sake on convenience..

one time as Franklin I returned this guy's bike and he gave me $100k in stocks

and I took one guy to the golf course and now he's a golfing buddy of mine  :heart

Also, is there a reason the stock market is down for maintenace?

I did the guy who gave me a stokc tip, but I could not buy any shares because BAWSAQ was down for maintenance.

The problem for me is that the game seems to have absurd in game prices for things 200 million for the golf course apparently) that the game itself doesn't provide, forcing you to buy money packs to achieve buying it. It is essentially f2p model for a 60 dollar game. I'm the type of player who likes owning every building and doing everything. I don't want to feel as if I need to buy money with real money to do that.

Several hours in and the game keeps surprising me with the details.  In past robberies, the owner of the gas station would surrender and hand over some money.  This one time he pulls out a shotgun and there's a brief shootout, and some of my shots broke the bottles behind him  :omg

After that you can still take money from the register by going behind the counter.  Saint's Row let you do this stuff too, but the almost insignificant details are what make it here.  Flashbacks to the MGS2 demo and discovering crazy details like ice cubes melting.

yup yup.  There's a lot of expensive shit but with enough time and heists and the extra shit that will be in GTA online I don't see any of it as unreachable.  I've probably blown close to 5 million on properties and other crap already and I'm barely getting into that.

There's a guide out there that shows how you can get like 1.5 billion for everyone but you need to know to not do any of the Lester missions until after you've done all the main story missions. Most people do the missions as they come so they're gonna miss that obviously. It's pretty disappointing because I don't think there will be a way for me to get anywhere close to the amount of money required to buy the some of the properties which sucks.

yeah, I'm reading some strategies and it looks like you can affect the market outside of those specific missions.  the largest payouts come from those specific missions, but it isn't sounding impossible unless you spend recklessly.

I've played the first couple of hours now and I'm actually liking it quite a bit besides the graphics (yeah they're impressive in scale, lighting, attention to detail, but the IQ is ass and the empty but incredibly photo-realistic beautiful RDR world is way more impressive to me to explore.  RDR still blows my mind and is probably the best looking sandbox game out there.  Plus horses > cars).

One thing I really like about this is that Franklin is actually a very likeable normal guy.  It's nice playing as a only-slighty-a-thug guy who just has dumbass friends and gets mixed up into things but always has a normal person's viewpoint on them.  Plus it's light hearted and funny which is so much better than the serious GTAIV tone since Rockstar are not very good writers.

I like that they took the Stranger missions from RDR.  Good stuff.  The gun combat is GREAT for a GTA, jesus gun controls are normally so shit in GTA games, now they're pretty good!  All the shooting needs is better sound effects so that it doesn't feel like you're shooting couch pillows with silenced guns.  Love that there's environment destruction and the little details like being able to shoot an oil trail.  Great stuff!

Car driving is still way worse than Saints Row.  The controls and physics are fine, it's just that the GPS mapping still sucks and it's still way too easy to hit something and get completely stopped when you're chasing someone.  Luckily so far the game is easy at the start and the people wait for you when you do that, but still, I almost NEVER run into shit in Saints Row while on a chase but in every GTA I fail mission after mission in by some car dashing out at me and sending me spinning or hitting a pole and coming to a complete stop.  Wish they made your car more indestructible like an arcade racer so you almost never get knocked away, just slowed a bit when you hit something but keep going straight.

Like the quick saving, good stuff.  Haven't been able to try to the social club stuff because it's always been down everytime I play.  Like the switching between people.  Mission variety is pretty good.

One thing that makes me sad about GTA and a lot of sandbox games is when they build these huge ultra-detailed cities but there's not much that you can interact with.  I think that's one thing where Just Cause and Assassin's Creed do really good jobs (SR too).  In Just Cause you can blow so much stuff up!  Like yeah, the world is ultra-cut & paste but it's still fun blowing up the 30th gas station and running from the cops.  In AC I love how like every block has a historical database entry about the location, or a hidden collectible, or a side mission or two.  It does a good job at giving you a reason to explore every crack of the world.  Even Crackdown 1's orb collecting did that.  and Saints Row has a side-activity at like every 4-5 blocks.  I'm still early, so I don't know all the side stuff available, but just looking at the map for icons of things to do, it's pretty sparse.  And I don't count strip clubs or movie theaters where you just go and hang out much of a thing.  I mean they're cool, but I want gameplay things to do all across the world they create.

Anyhow with the addition of checkpoints and gun/mission improvements and what seems like interesting characters, this may be the first GTA I actually play to competition.  I've played all the GTAs since the first (except Chinatown wars), but never got more than 30% story completition in any of them before I got frustrated by shitty mission designs or just bored.  Vice City was the one I played the longest but never finished that.  Would be nice to find a GTA enjoyable enough to actual finish.  Every other sandbox game, whether RDR, Just Cause 1, Infamous, even the shitty AC1 or Crackdown 2, got me to finish them.  I think the difference is that GTA games are freaking long and other sandbox games are pretty short so they keep my interest for the 15-25 hours.  Hope I finish V!

Oh and I'm super impressed by how many radio stations there are and songs and random conversations there are.  Big budgets can be impressive!

In my game the vehicle is in motion and doesn't stop at red lights, how did you get it to not simply ram you out of the way?

More recently it has been spawning on the highway so red lights aren't even an option, actually.
