Is Trump going to build an actual wall?

Or is he going to say that the wall is a metaphor for tightening immigration legislation?
I'm hoping for an actual wall.

Hadrians Wall
Great Wall
Trumps Wall

And remember Mexico is paying.

Mexico will pay, because they'll be trying to stem the tide of Californian refugees.

Nah, thats why we have the Narcos for.

Resentment of liberal condescension in Rust Belt states + NAFTA eviscerating economies of said states + Clinton. TAA DAA

And it's not that everyone who voted for Trump in those states is racist. It's more that his talk on trade, manufacturing and the economy resonated enough that they were willing to overlook the rest of his...deficiencies. Trump's coalition isn't going to last forever but the strategy of an outsider stirring up Middle America will still be viable for what? 10? 20 years?

So the two media personalities that correctly predicted Trump was Michael Moore and Ann Coulter.

What a time to be alive.

 :doge

And that insufferable twitter guy who wouldnt shut up about secret trump voters and rally turnout

And yet he'll prob finish will fewer votes than Romney, or barely more. The story here is democrat voters taking things for granted in multiple states, and a vast majority of white women being cool with electing someone who brags about sexually assaulting women.

He took out the Bush and Clinton families from any more politics.

I loathe Trump but yes, the (sole?) good thing about him is that this is *the last* we'll see of either family for quite a while. I guess it wasn't her turn after all.

I really don’t buy the “not everyone who voted for Trump is racist,” especially when it comes to white voters. If you elected a racist as president, you’re a racist. It doesn’t matter how you knew a black guy once who was a hard worker and you got along great. Just because you don’t like being called a racist doesn’t mean you’re not a racist. Just because you don’t actually understand racism (because you think reverse racism exists) doesn’t mean you’re not a racist. If you are comfortable around racists, you’re a racist. If you never posted on the Bore outside of the GAF thread before because you knew your racist views weren’t tolerated and then felt safe after a racist was elected, you’re a racist.

Using the exit polls and vote results, that means there are roughly 35 million racist white voters in the USA. Considering this country has a cultural history of racism, I don’t find that hard to believe at all.

I admit it's petty to not vote for a candidate because someone else in their immediate family has already come before. But that's kinda how I felt about voting for HRC. 300+ million people in the country and we again faced the possibility of a Jeb! vs. Hillary? We couldn't find anyone else?

I sort of agree. A Trump voter is really looking hard the other way. But that's the way it is in some terribly depressed places. Christ, Walmarts in some of those towns are like the company store and could fit the entire town inside them. I don't think we should reduce those voters to a single facet of their personality.

Some people are overreacting to the idea that Democrats mistepped on messaging by thinking it means "CODDLE THE RACISTS." They effectively made the election about Trump solely including downballot while simultaneously talking about how it was in the bag. And they don't understand why that wasn't enough to get people to vote for Hillary and the D's?

I stopped seeing the pro-Hillary ads in Michigan in September, after that they were all about terrible things Trump had said and how he'd be garbage as President. And lots of the downballot races were trying to tie the R candidate to what Trump had said.

It's like there just was a big assumption that everyone was as motivated to be FOR HER as they were. Something, IIRC, was a problem they had in 2008.

Sure, racists are a culture, not a costume. But you can be disenfranchised, left behind, stuck in poverty, feel betrayed, and also racist. Those first things don’t give you a “I’m not a racist” card. Those things are probably more likely to make you a racist since racism in this country was built around tricking those types of people not to revolt against aristocracy in the southern colonies.

I don't know...Trump voter = automatic racist just seems too simplistic. I still think it's more likely that quite a few tolerant/open-minded/non-racist folks were enthusiastic about his rhetoric on trade and the economy and willing to overlook the dog whistling. If an issue is *important* enough - the economy - I still think people would hold their nose and take the good with the bad.

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is the type of thinking that made Donald J. Trump a fucking president.

You mean people who are fragile enough to not accept the truth? So we are supposed to baby them? What was wrong with be said? Trump was endorsed by the KKK and refused to dismiss their endorsement. The man has promised to deport Muslims and Mexicans and build a wall, Germany style. Nazis, as in literal Nazi's, are Trump supporters. How is the act of calling people who support this racist a bad thing? It's the fucking truth.

Today my friends (none are white) are telling stories about what happened to them. People are spray painting Nazi swastika's. Kids are telling their classmates they should be in the back of the bus. We have to explain to our children and family that we are scared. This ranges from multiple groups, from women to LGBTQ to racial minorities.

Now that they have won its open season.

But nah, calling a spade a spade is how Trump won? All that tells me is the fragility of white egos and how utterly weak of a people they are.

The problem is that both parties in the last couple decades have signed on to globalization and international trade while doing little to help those affected in the rust belt states.

A reconstituted DNC in 2020 might be able to test the theory that there are red state folks who voted for Trump but are not themselves racist. Democrats on the national level walked away from red states when they turned sharply corporatist around the beginning of the Clinton era.

Everybody needs to settle down a bit and stop the filibuster-hyping and revolution having delusions. That shit can happen AFTER there is a 21st century inquisition. Otherwise no one is going to be bothered to vote.

Let the economy hit a depression, foreign relationships crumble, and racism/sexism pervade as a legitimate policy. People found those ideas so hard to believe that until they see it, there is nothing to be done. Just sit and wait for all the shit to hit the fan before trying to fix it.

let's look at the positives, libruhs: how shook is gaf?
I don't know if even you could have made it more shaken.

People are discussing whether or not it's even worth it to have kids anymore. And complaining because Obama didn't call for overturning the election.

Yeah, I was doing pretty well, but then hit the chocolate pretty hard last night.

HOWEVER, I was surprised to realize that I had NO DESIRE to drink. I realized yesterday that if I drank, I wouldn't stop until 2020.

Not seeing any downsides to this, honestly. Well, other than liver failure.

Itll be interested to see if Trump getting elected will hurt retail in November and December (and hurt jobs).

He can spin that in his inauguration speech as "look at the Obama economy failing, Im here to fix it, and I have a mandate to act fast"

He then institutes all his tariffs.

Economy then follows 2008 timeline. Major falls over the summer with the bottom falling out in late September.

11% unemployment by December 2017.

Retail will be fine breh come on. If Americans like anything more than racism it's holiday season deals.  :doge

But yea the economy is gonna have some issues. Trump doesn't need congress to blow up some trade deals. He'll be able to impact the market by...just speaking. And with China who-knows-when away from implosion, Russia buying food, Euro fucking up...we could have multiple crashes at the perfect time to throw the US off.

I figured a Hillary win=US econ continues to old man jog well enough to 2020, then we see what happens. Now...we're fucked.

Rachel Maddow is basically on the verge of tears doing her opening monologue, constantly choking up in her voice.

If there was any silver lining to this, it is that my 2 daughters get a front row seat to the conservative agenda before they get to have it affect them. 1 new voter in '18 and another in '20.

They had it too good for too long.

Where's Tasty? Dude's been missing for a bit.

Meh, I've come to accept it. The US will always side eye arabs and this election just confirmed that it'll keep going. Me and my brother made a pact to not discuss nor follow politics for the next 4 years. I can't vote yet, he can but won't let anything get to him till he can try again.

So for the most part we'll be talking about vidya, movies, music and other dumb shit cause why hand wring? What's done is done and all you can do is vote in the future.

Uhhhh tell your brother that one of the reasons republicans got this strong hold is because of prior mid term wins. If you only vote in presidential elections you're part of the problem. Hate to put it that way but more need to be educated on this. The next battle is 2018, not 2020. Though dems have a high likelhood of getting fucked there.

"Do you see this tear? It came from my left eye. Now I want you to look at this photo...yes, it's of a movie film reel. Well the film I'm going to talk to you about is not that, exactly. It's called the precorneal film. It covers your eyes and makes you, well, cry. That's what my left eye is doing right now. So the question you're probably asking yourself is, where did this tear come from? I want you to look at this photo. It may look like abstract art but in actuality it is...you guessed it, the Lacrimal apparatus. It's where tears are manufactured, including the one from my left eye. Why does this matter? I'll tell you after the break."

The only thing that would make 2016 great again would be a new Cruncheons podcast.

Let's get the band back together.
