1.They talked too much about the system without even showing it...8GB GDDR 5 is  impressive,but it almost feels  like Sony did it just to please gaf/match MS number

Killzone(pretty but boring),racing game(nobody seems to give a shit at the moment),MM move stuff

Nothing really major but I see people more excited about 8GB than software and that tells a lot to me.

The software lineup wasn't amazing (talking 1st party) but very broad, which is business as usual for Sony.

3rd party games looked great, having Bungie and Blizzard there means a lot to a lot of people.

The thing is they didn't do anything WRONG.

Apparently it "works" but picture quality is shit until the game starts running on PS4.

You are basically streaming(Gaikai) and downloading the game at the same time.

I mean streaming games is inherently going to look inferior to a local game but the point of the service is to try the game out instantly. The benefit outweighs the draw back. At least for me. I would LOVE that to become a STEAM feature.

I've tested the Gaikai service on Green Man Gaming and it works pretty well.

MS will make their own stream tech or someone will do a deal with OnLive, you can book it, it's gonna happen. And you'll note, Sony didn't say any of that stuff was free.

That Killzone GIF is basically a foreground that looks like a next gen Mass Effect or Halo Reach, with a nice waterfall, and some cleverly designed cityscape that is rendering no-doubt low LOD buildings in the distance. The large building focal point has a fucking glass shield-thing around it purely because some distinguished mentally-challenged fellows are delighted by reflection mapping / refraction shaders. As soon as the ships land and it goes FPS, it looks like the same shit killzone games we played this generation.

Microsoft will leave this reveal as nothing but a whimpering memory. Hopefully.

There's a lot of room in "used games can play on PS4." I still believe there'll be some sort of code or tag which renders the game a demo for the next person until they pay the unlock fee. That's better than never being able to trade or sell your games, but not by that much, as it would still eliminate you being able to loan your games out. I think that's why they're pushing all the "try before you buy" stuff. I'll be happy if I'm wrong.

Honestly,I think that is the best thing Sony has shown.

It would be nice if publishers would allow to play part of the game without paying/downloading(next gen demos) but demos are kinda like review embargoes for publishers.

Well, the game will play differently regardless of its price model. Have you played any of the other FPSMMOs? They're quite different from traditional single player campaigns that rely heavily on set pieces and scripted events.

Killzone is meh, but its a game I could pick up for cheap. If its a launch game that would be good for Sony as some people seem to like it.

That said I don't like Halo gameplay either so I'm still unsure about Destiny.

Deep Down now looks very cool, like a more accesible Dark Souls.

The 8 GB of RAM was totally surprising.  Unless MS can magically pull a rabbit out of their hat and beat that then it's going to be hard to envision a scenario where the PS4 doesn't out perform the 720 in every way.

I don't give a shit about Sony's first party stuff outside of maybe 1 or 2 games.....maybe.....but then again I don't  give a shit about what MS has either, so this is going to come down to who's got the best box with the most interesting features.  Right now the PS4 is looking pretty damn good. Real good.  Unless MS can knock my socks off, I'll just go with the PS4 and skip the 720.

Only to some extent. It's still locked to a single system. PSN content can be played on 2+2 systems. Neither solution is particularly good.

I do hope that any PS3 stuff that finds its way onto PS4 (like Pinball Arcade) won't ask you to pay again, at the very least.

I think they'll find a way to transfer tables. For instance the original tables from Zen Pinball were transferred for free when they released Zen Pinball 2. It shouldn't be that difficult to fix.

I honestly can't think of exclusive PS3/PSN game that I'd want to play again.  Maybe some years down the road I'd be curious to go back to Flower or something but the whole lack of PSN carryover is a nonstarter with me. Of course then again it's not like I spent a lot of money on PSN either.
