Typically when you're backed up the manager has you take 3-4 orders at once. It really depends on who's driving that day. Sometimes on weekends, peoples schedules are lighter and they aren't working that day, so you'll only have like 3 drivers for hundreds of orders on a busy ass day. This lack of workers can also happen with the prep, pizza cooks, and other workers, so you lack the drivers AND the people making the actual food, so you'll have drivers making food and then driving out when there's only 2 other people in the store.
A big assumption people make is that pizza places are assembly lines: they aren't.
