Money, be it cash or gold or beans, is the primary source of misery on this planet since the dawn of time. The reason being is that it is a means to manage scarcity. Scarcity itself leads to poverty, inequality and social instability. With a moneyless system where scarcity is no longer an issue, this idea that we're simple animals that will always sucumb to our base animal instancts goes out the window.

There is a reason why crime in a country like Japan is much less than in a country like the United States. The way societies are structured matter.

The point of the system is to eliminate scarcity through advanced automation. This eliminates much of the crime that is associated with animal behaviour.

Ohhhhh scarcity, that's where we're going wrong! Why didn't I think of that?

I agree with you about the Kaz avatars.  But at least Cerny has a pretty impressive resume of having made great games over the years.  And if you believe the stories it sounds like Cerny was pretty key in driving the PS4 toward being a more traditional game console rather than going down the path Microsoft took with the Xbox One.

And I do agree that when discussing general news people engage in all kinds of theorizing without anyone batting an eye. However, this time it's different not only because someone from GAF is involved, but due to the internet contributing to the investigation.

Crowd sourced investigations has become a thing lately and unfortunately it comes with a slew of creepy downsides, motivated by entitlement, that could result in real-life effects.
