The cop should've let himself be shot then fired at Smith or just walked right back out the door when a gun was aimed at him. Or just dodged the shots! What a bunch of dumbfucks. It's a tragic situation that you can't blame on the officer involved. I say that as someone who is very critical of the police, too. Simple as that.

He could've flash-stepped and used the i-frames to avoid the shot, then teleported behind for the punish while the robber was still in his recovery frames

It's not wrong at all. You can often tell, when hanging out with a new female friend, whether or not she even considers you an option for dating.
