same appeal as other teeny popstars, but more sexually repressed and better packaged. There seems to be a large contingent of the fervent fans on gaf that don't even listen to the music and are more concerned with instagram accounts and airport candids, but provided you enjoy pop music there is competent stuff there. It's understandable that the packaging turns people off tho.

yeah, the music of the popular stuff is horrible and somehow even more vapid than western pop.  the audience is more or less the same here as in the west, though.  young/teen girls and single adult males.  the girls are imitating.  the men are in it for the fapping.

my time with starcraft streams tells me there is way more to it than fapping. every single one of these 17-25 dudes had a playlist a mile long of this same saccharine squealing with zero tonal variance - from boy and girl bands. it's gross. even the western stuff they listened to had to toe the same insipid line.

i mean, i know eminiem and linkin park aren't exactly the height of enlightened media, but at least they give kids' spazzy teenage hormones a workthrough.
