gotta have an exit strategy in mind.

can't stay a reviewer/personality forever. see adam sesslor

Sessler could've stayed a reviewer perpetually if he didn't start to talk about things from the corporate mouthpiece/"shilling" mountain. That was his problem. He started to publicly do that and it earned ire from the hands that fed him for decades.

I don't have particular links but the general order of events happened as:

-1080p-gate ("1080p is important this generation!" X-box 720 is actually 900p: "WHO CARES ABOUT RESOLUTION!?")
-Gamers lose their shit over his 180. Some (that he blames NeoGAF on) death-threats happen
-"Nuke Arm Dealers probably have a better user base than Gamers"
-(NeoGAF ire here) Some Gamer ire that is further fueled happens
-Decides to retire from the industry due to "gamer ire"/butthurt that him 180-ing and toeing the MS corporate line isn't being ate by the people he's supposed to be "reporting to"/informing that already were butthurt/ired toward MS and their initial 720 plans.

i'm not sure it's possible to work in a job where you're interacting with a large group of gamers on a fairly regular basis and not become disgusted with them.  from there, it's just a hop, skip, and a jump into the welcome arms of the companies.

I don't disagree that people get burned out eventually. But he kinda brought the ire on himself when he was like "YEAH 1080p OR GIVE ME DEATH!" (X-box outputs 900p) "...Well, actually, who cares about resolution now? :yeshrug "

If you're not going to stand with your (strong) opinion, you kinda get the ire you deserve from it.

That said he was in the journalism industry for 20 years, so it isn't like people hated him. He simply was a dinosaur of the TV-era (Youtube killed the TV star...) that couldn't keep up with the consumers demands and then when he started to shill after so long people called him out on it.

He should've silently retired used his "consulting firm" to springboard into Microsoft's arms if that's what he wanted. Speaking of the consulting: Is he doing anything? Outside of E3 on Spike for like 1-3 days I haven't heard his consulting firm business taking off or anything.

...

All you do is put oil, fat, or butter on high heat, wait till it's hot but don't let it smoke, then dump the eggs in and watch the sides depending in you want it cooked.

I remember those scenes being distinguished mentally-challenged but not that distinguished mentally-challenged. Surely there was a goal. Wasn't she trying to make sunny side up fried eggs?

If you want to properly make good eggs, then:

-bring the eggs to room temp by leaving them in tap water
-heat pan and wait until the butter browns

Simple enough, but for omelettes:

-want a flat pan, wide spatula
-spoon eggs in a circular pattern
-tilt pan to bleed the eggs to the edge
-cook like 10 or so seconds and then use spatula to scrap in the edges of the omelette towards the middle
-repeat tilting the pan to spread the middle  uncooked egg out to the sides again
-cook, flip and melt butter on top

Nintendo games do never get actually cheap. Fire Emblem 3DS a year later is still about $30. The main Pokemon games on the DS are still about $25 and up. It's kind of ridiculous. About the only Nintendo game I remember seeing for super cheap is Metriod Other M for $5 and well its obvious why.

Smash Bros. Melee was still $30 in 2009 at Best Buy, before they finally got rid of their GC section.

Note: SSBM was also the only Player's Choice title to be $30 instead of $20.

At the local used game stores around Chicago Brawl, Zelda, and Kart games for the N64 and Cube are the most frequently requested and out of stock games thanks to Nostalgia fegs.

Kirby's Return to Dreamland on the Wii still sells for $50 at Gamestop along with Xenoblade and Metroid Prime Trilogy.

Well Gamestop is just being dicks about Xenoblade. Copies you find of it are just ones they opened and made "used". They were also the only actual retailer for it here. Prime is also supposed to be rare. Which is not the case for Xenoblade as far as I can tell. Almost every Gamestop in the Chicago land area has it and it's not even a case of having "low stock" for most of them.

Nintendo treats their games as reliable long-term commodities.  Lots of other companies treat their stuff as slash and burn disposables.  It actually works for Nintendo, so I can't fault them too much for it.  Their games have super-long tails, and their classic titles have held their value quite well thanks to their Disney-esque fuckery.  Like, could you imagine them selling a collection of 48 16-bit era Nintendo games for $30, like Sonic's Genesis Collection?  That's unthinkable, and the only reason it *is* is because Nintendo guarded the value of that shit instead of selling it out for pennies on the dollar.

Nintendo will never put their games on Steam sale when they go third party.  :fbm

News like this should be fact checked with Sony America/Japan before posting anywhere. Especially when you are the biggest gaming site. IGN fucked up pretty badly this time.

And to post it on the eve of E3 and force Sony to make an official statement is really a disgrace. Not only could they have fucked up their conference and given a massive blow to the fanbase, but it casts massive doubts on where and how information is released.

And yes it's the internet, but as a journalist and editor no less, IGN and Steve Butts really should have checked beyond all doubt that the information was correct before posting what was obvious click-bait.

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=115413034&postcount=409

I didn't think the Sony faithful were as crazy as this.  :lol

This is games journalism, not world stage politics. You would think IGN were leaking state secrets from some of the reactions in that thread. If anything this whole farce has forced Sony to actually talk about the game.

IGN: So, we heard from a source that The Last Guardian is cancelled.

Sony: Oh...uh...yeah, it is actually. We were gonna sit on that for a while, but you guys found out! Go ahead and run with the story.

IGN: Okay, thanks.

You sir are an idiot.

You don't get to use brehs.

Never good? Bayonetta and Vanquish are both unarguably good games. Rising's only problem is that it's short, but it's amazing that they turned around a very good and unique action game in such little time.  Madworld is a fun for $5 which is how much it costs.

I haven't played 101 because it's on a garbage system, but even then some people seem to like it.

I can't think of any other developer with a better track record for last gen.
