Sometimes things we take as wastes of time really aren't. I think it depends on what you do with your time. You were crafting friendships, even if they were online, which is never a waste.

It's offensive in the same way someone would ask a person for his name here, he answers Xolani Tsabalala and then the person immediately wants to call him X or try and wrattle off gibberish as his name. This is a pretty typical thing that happens in Africa.
