I'm looking forward to seeing Jamie's transformation on screen the most and yesterday we got a wonderful hint of it. That's my kingslayer. :tocry I still hate they made him a kinslayer and how light they made the act of kinslaying. Shit is flat out stupid and will walk them into a pool of plotholes later.

The Scene with danny was fantastic, I usually roll my eyes when Kelly C starts going on about blood of the dragon, fire and blood bla bla bla, but in a weird in comprehensive language she sounded totally badass.

The lighting lord sucked, don't like the actor.

All spoilers should be tagged bros. While I think it's good in general for new viewers not to click any spoilers I could see someone assuming a non-tagged one was safe.

I like the actor who plays Beric, I just don't like that he wasn't discussed earlier. The Brotherhood is mentioned a couple times in S2 but there was no build up for the leader; odd decision IMO.

only to realize at the end I was thinking of her plot from S3 the whole time

fire and blood time :bow

It's an interesting tv/book dilemma. Dany barely has any chapters in the second book, but the character has become so popular among TV fans that the writers felt they needed to give her extra screen time. I would have taken the risk of having her in fewer episodes and just building up to a big payoff (House of the Undying). I can't say I liked anything about how she was handled in S2, especially the WHERE ARE MAH DRAGONZ new stuff. And while I understand why they had to change the House of the Undying, it could have been more memorable imo.

Her story in S2 was just so anti-climactic, and it wasn't interesting to begin with.  It felt like they could have left her out of the first 6 or so episodes instead of trying to fit her sitting in the desert every episode.

Season 3 covers half of book 3, and Season 4 will be the other half of book 3.  The book is the longest in the series to date, and lots of stuff happens, so the decision was made to split it into multiple seasons.

You're right, this season is half of book three plus one arc from book five.

In response to your question (no spoilers:)

The Theon stuff doesn't happen until book five. Book three does note that he is being tortured by someone, but you don't actually see any of his ordeal until ADWD. By that time in the books he's been in captivity for about a year or so

Man this season really sucks as far as keeping arcs flowing each episode. Only a few minutes got spent on Tyrion, Bron, Theon, Samwell, etc. Just a slow trickle of exposition leading up to their probably most important events so far. And yeah, Arya had a scene too (two actually) but it wasn't enough time to actually see what happens.

They really need to take a break from anybody closely related or engaged to Joffrey. He hasn't had anybody tortured or killed this season which is the only thing of any consequence that he does.

Overlooked in the end of episode awesomeness was that the Queen of Thornes is BAD ASS.  Also, Tywin's interaction with Cersei was FUCK AWESOME.  The guy they got to play Tywin might be my favorite actor in the entire show.

Charles Dance brings quality to anything he's in. He was the redeeming part of even crappy things like Alien3 and The Golden Child. He's awesome.

There's not much for Tyrion to do early in the story. Bron isn't a focal character and never has been. The Theon story is mostly just being stretched out and most of us have no idea where it is going. But you're right on Samwell's scenes.

In any case, the episode flowed well anyways because each scene was about revenge and mutilation. Setting up the episode with Jamie's hand necklace (so glad they did it) and then with Varys talking about revenge and patience sets the entire tone for the entire episode. Done extremely well in a thematic sense that the clip theatre shouldn't be too much of a bother.

IMO this season would be better with less Theon. Thus far this is experiment hasn't worked and only slows down episodes. I know where it's going but I doubt many people care about this story. It seems like his escape and re-capture should have been held off longer to give it some weight, instead it feels trivial. He gets tortured for a couple minutes then "someone" decides to free him, only to bring him back immediately; it would have more dramatic weight if we saw him getting tortured in the first episode, then don't see him again until ep 5 when he's released. Re-capture in the next ep, and don't revisit him until the finale.

He's had more screen time than Jon, which is ridiculous IMO

Hopefully this is the last we see of Theon till next season. PLEASE ramp up on Jon's arc. One of the best arcs continues to be ruined. Is it because the setting is more expensive to film at? The acting and script in that section has a lot of gaps and miscasts. This isn't a book thing either. Sucks because Jon is my favorite character but he's just an annoying ignorant welp here.

Ratings were up again this week.  First run had 4.87M viewers and a 2.6 in the demo.  Details over at TVbtN.

Beat the NBA playoffs in the 18-49 demo, very impressive. These last two episodes have been some of the best buzz creating "water cooler" episodes on television right now. Dany's scene is probably the strongest single GoT scene since Baelor (or Fire and Blood's ending).

The episode was pretty exciting but everybody's plotline besides Daenerys feels half-developed. I feel like they're going to go in a different direction than the books with Tyrion and Sansa so I don't really know what to expect. I just can't see them shitting all over those two as badly as the books do.

I don't know what to say about Bran, his scenes are just confusing. I just want to see more Hordor.

To be fair to Tyrion, he went from being the most powerful person in King's Landing to being a glorified accountant. His story hasn't really hit a stride yet, but it has featured one of the stronger scenes of the season (his confrontation of Tywin).

The biggest victim of the season's pacing has been Jon IMO; his story hasn't been developed at all, which is odd considering how much time was spent shooting in Iceland.

Also, I'd say most of the story lines are well developed. Big problem with Sam's is they didn't show there was discontent among the ranks of the Watch even BEFORE the battle of the fist of men. course, they didn't SHOW the battle of the fist of men because it is the TV show and dem budget issues breh. But it still communicates what it needs to. They haven't developed Bran's Warg story with the Reeds but that was always going to be hard to develop. The King's Landing plot lines are all spot on. Like I said, there isn't much for Tyrion to DO right now and PD answered that.

Aside from Stannis is scenes I'd say they're all pretty good aside from Jon's. Jon's is awful and has communicated ZERO information to viewers. Why is Mance apparently such a great leader? I thought his host was in the hundreds of thousands but you wouldn't know it by the TV show. Nance said that Snow is Ned's bastard but would TV viewers know how he knows that? The thing is just bad top to bottom. Thankfully as others have said they're going to journey up north beyond the wall more often.

Now I hope you realize the trial of adapting a book series with dozens of pov characters and with more names and locations than Tolkien into a one hour TV show with 10 episode seasons. They've dine a fantastic job so far considering the circumstances. If you want more development, read the books. If not just wait and enjoy television piff.  :win
