Spec sheets already confirm XBONE to be 65% larger than the PS4.

Also PS4 has no power brick, it's an internal PSU and this is TBD for XBONE.

I'm not sure how the PS4 can be so small. It's also very light at 2.8kg or 6lbs. Compare that to launch PS3 at 7kg or 15lbs... PS4 is only 40% of PS3 weight.

Smaller
Internal Power supply
8 GB
Better GPU

The one disadvantage of this whole thing is that the diehard Sony fans are gonna be fucking insufferable now  :lol

But with the how big the fuckup is at MS, it was to be expected. We'll see how this goes

PS4's size makes no sense to me. If they're lying about anything, that would be my guess. Yeah Sony won regardless, but I still can't trust them to do EVERYTHING right. Not after last gen.

Also you can tell some bitterness in his comments towards Activision. Must've cancelled the Wii U version of Ghosts at the last second without telling Nintendo  :lol

What did he say?

Keighley kept questioning him on the lack of Battlefield and such and Reggie kept talking about how something might still/eventually happen. Which Keighley immediately jumped on by asking why they wouldn't have announced a Wii U version of whatever at E3. Then Reggie, on his own initiative, saying something about "and then you have commments from Activision" and then told Keighley he would have to ask Activision about it when Keighley questioned him.

Gave the impression that Reggie planned to use Ghosts as his counterpoint to not having Battlefield and didn't expect it to not be announced. Reggie still sounded like somethign (ghosts?) would happen but I imagine that tune will change once he sits down with Activision and gets a formal "NO".

Im surprised they even brought out 3 and 4 and given all the gloom talk from Sega it's not surprising I guess, still sucks though.

But I have no interests in Miku, so I guess I won't be purchasing Sega games for a while.

That dull looking Ubisoft racing game is actually kind of cool when you hear someone else describe it.  Giantbomb guys got me interested about the open world being a fun house mirror'd United States (example given: New York is the size of Liberty City).  It sounds like Test Drive Unlimited in the US with different varieties of racing.

I enjoy seeing people feel bad over things that don't affect me, so I'm all for RGG games not getting localized, but you can bet your bottom dollar I'm going to milk the suffering by turning them against the Miku pedophiles.

RGG games not getting localized doesn't bother me in the slightest. My JP copy still exists.

I'm assuming there's a translation guide by now. No clue.

ThePatrick said he was working on one, but he's got real world responsibilities now, so he can't do them as quickly as he used to.  And ThePatrick is the only person who ever does those translation guides for RGG.

Ah. His Kenzan guide was great for a bunch of old style Japanese that went over my head.

The whining about Kenzan! not being localized and the flat out refusal by some to import and use a guide just kills me. The game exists and there is a way for you to play it... but noooo I don't want to read.

Actually, it's hard to say.  Niche stuff gets translated when people at SEGA have free time between important projects.  That's why World Destruction and Valkyria Chronicles got released but 7th Dragon didn't.  Miku is obviously niche, so very likely the same guys that normally would be doing RGG are working on that instead.

Chances would still be pretty low even in the absence of Miku, though.  Almost anything is worth localizing ahead of RGG after Dead Souls performance.

Yeah, but Miku is singing in Japanese and has Japanese subtitles based on the demo alone. What exactly are they localizing here? Unless me turning the sound off made me miss the English.

The real reason is that Miku is a music game and those are farrrrr less costly to localize in regards to menus and a few changes/licenses (I guess vocaloid/Miku itself would be cheaper than actual music?) than translating a series that has had 4-5 releases in the west but didn't exactly sell too well to make that investment worth it again.

If these guys wanted to play it that badly, import the fucking game and use a walk through. It's better than nothing. My Japanese isn't great, but I've managed to play though, understand and enjoy RGG 3, 4, 5 Of the End and Kenzan.

The major barrier is keeping up with the guide. If you were able to put the translation guide in the game as a translation dump yourself with minimal hackery I think that'd be a boon in regards to import/"fan-translating" games that aren't going to leave Japan for the English-only fanbase.

You're such a nice guy, I can't see you saying anything negative about anyone. :-[

E3 was a blast this year, so much more hype than the last few years, lots of great games and trailers, almost no waggle and motion controls.

Maybe I'll end up canceling my PS4 preorder when I realize I don't really want to play any of the launch games, but eh. We'll see.

As for Japanese import games.. I thought there'd be more worth importing. I have Super Robot MK III preordered, and Daisenryaku Perfect for PS3 preordered (which keeps getting delayed over and over..)

I can understand it.  People want to sit down and be entertained, not keep looking at a guide and miss out on all the dialog and other crap that you wouldn't get if you weren't fluent in Japanese.  Running around, not knowing what the hell anyone is talking about, with a FAQ telling you where to go and what do doesn't sound particularly exciting for a game like this.

The whining about Kenzan! not being localized and the flat out refusal by some to import and use a guide just kills me. The game exists and there is a way for you to play it... but noooo I don't want to read.

It's not optimal, but if you want to play a game that isn't coming over really bad, it's better than never getting to play it. [shrug]

Oh yeah, I should mention...

As for Japanese import games.. I thought there'd be more worth importing. I have Super Robot MK III preordered, and Daisenryaku Perfect for PS3 preordered (which keeps getting delayed over and over..)

I've got Gundam Breaker and SRW MKIII preordered. I want Drag-On Dragoon 3 and Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Flash as well, but will probably just wait until I go to Japan next April in the off-chance that either get announced for NA (highly unlikely).
