Story stuff doesn't seem like it'll be nearly as terrible as XIII series. Noctis is a little pretentious and a little Adam Lambert, but I have a feeling it won't be made up noun city. I at least understand it's dudes battling over a crystal. The Lightning Returns trailer is incomprehensible.

Eh, this looks like the next logical step from that. I wouldn't mind going back to that but this is still real-time in combat it seems. Just no ATB. I didn't see a Kingdom Heart's-style menu for magic and the like though. So who knows...

I did see the mini map when he was climbing up the airship and noted that it didn't look like it'd be corridors again.

Looks fucking awesome!!!!!!

I can't even get into how much better the art design is in Versus compared to the last 7 years of shitty FFXIII world/characters. So nice to get a grown up mature (at least in a FFVIII level, so for 14 year olds instead of 8 year olds) FF.

In Nomura we trust! Keep Toriyama/Kitase the fuck away from this!

My only complaint is there looked to be no lighting model for the indoor scenes which looked shitty current-gen and not next-gen. Hopefully they add that in the polish. The outdoor lighting looked sick. THE LEVIATHAN BATTLE.

Last trailer before it disappeared showed FFXII/Xenoblade style open world gameplay. Could be a mix of that for exploring/questing and then linear scripted sections for cinematic story parts and fights. I have this idea that they showed that type of scene because Americans like CoD/GoW. At TGS they might show the rpg-side of it for JPN gamers.

Also it looks like the beginning of the game. Any FF fan worth their salt knows every story based FF is linear as shit in the first thirty minutes to hour. The only exceptions are 8 (Balamb Garden) and 12 (Rabanestre). They said in the trailer they're going to put a hit on Noctis' family. That is a very good starting point for a game intro. It will be typical 3d FF Hollywood extravaganza intro ala 7 and 10.

More than that we've already SEEN game play of fields and open world and shit. Jesus christ Borys.

Sure, in the time it takes you to get the college required to work for Square Enix, get a job there, work your way up the corporate ladder until you're in a position to play test, the game still probably won't have been released.
