They have made a lot better choices since Spencer has been more in the mix. That can only be a good thing.

It's amazing how this cycle repeats itself over and over through out console history. Company gets too big for its britches. Suddenly wants to dictate any and everything and thinks their success inevitably means they are correct and thinks it knows everything. Gets humbled. Becomes a lot less arrogant and makes better decisions.

Until the next time when they get arrogant again and start the process all over again.

ditching it after however much R&D went into it is good, I think. no sarcasm. trying to justify it or doubling down on a bum product is sometime worse. from what I understand they need to overhaul the interface now.

rest of the announcements are trying to hit parity with the ps4 where they can. apps out of gold, games with gold, lower price, convincing fans to rally behind and deify businessmen. and so far xbone one has more interesting games announced, imo.

Well they had to change their stance unless they wanted to lose this console generation.

The PS4 is more powerful, a whole $100 cheaper, has a larger game library in the US, has more favorable development terms, doesn't require an online subscription to utilize third party apps, has no negativity or FUD associated with it, and has forward thinking technology in development (Morpheus).

Buying the PS4 is a no-brainer for consumers and it's why there's already a huge sales gap between the two. MS is desperately doing what they can to stop the boat from sinking.

I prefer it to the 360 controller although its has slightly different strengths and weaknesses.

I prefer the analog sticks which feel less cheap and flimsy than the 360 ones. I like that the "back" and "start" buttons are beneath the guide button instead of along side it as I was constantly accidentally hitting it. Some people don't really like the bumpers as they function best when pressed on the edge end instead of the middle like the 360's one. That doesn't really bother me based on the way I hold the controller but it bothers some people. The D-pad is better but honestly the d-pad is mainly used for toggling stuff or menu navigation so the fact that the 360 one sucked never really was an issue to me. Other than that its roughly the same. The controller uses a micro-usb to connect to PC.

I tried it on a couple of PC games and it seemed to work fine although obviously have to do more testing to see if any quirks arise.

My controller did go out on me twice. Once with analog drift and the other with some funky weird problem where it wouldn't sync with my xbox one. I sent it back to ms who had to replace it twice. Not sure if I was an anomaly case or the early run had a defect.

X1 is great. It felt weird and strange at first. Felt small to me, like how it fill my hands very tight. But now I honestly can't go back to 360. Feels too "plasticky" cheap compared to it.

Not sure if it was the update but several of my games and apps appeared as "uninstalled" and I had to manually go through the installation process for each one. However a few of my games won't let me install them and now I can't play Peggle 2, Project Spark, or Xbox Fitness. At least I got the super helpful error code: 0x80072ee6.

EDIT: I am IT pro numero cinco. I fixed the problem like boss.
