Okay, so other than the whole XBL clusterfuck I like this console okay. It's big as fuck and heavy as fuck and the top vent is comical overcompensation for the RROD 360 experience, but it's quieter than my PS4 at load and it's sleek. I don't have a Kinect (I told the dude to keep it and trade it at Gamestop, I think they give $40 or so for it). I sit about two feet from my monitor/tv so I couldn't use it even if I wanted to. The controller is nice, seems solid and the material feels premium compared to the lighter PS4 controller. I like the larger shoulder buttons. The proprietary connector for stereo headset is dumb and I felt a bit ripped off spending $25 for it, but unless you want to be wired to your XB1 that's what ya gotta do.
The interface is a bit "meh" imo. It's a little too busy, and I'm not a fan of how there's a sub-menu for everything. Snap and the TV stuff is useless to me. I do like the activity feed, and how videos will auto-play if you highlight them.
The only retail game I have is Dead Rising 3. It's pretty fun, so far I like it a lot more than the previous games. Definitely not a looker, though. I see the trade off they made, all those moving zombies on the screen is pretty impressive.
EA Access is...kinda worth it. I did the one-month for $4.99 to give it a try, and that's way the hell cheaper than outright buying Peggle 2. No real interest in Fifa or Madden, but I did download BF4 vanilla so I can play with the Xbone Boresquad now. They're also putting NFS: Rivals up in a couple of weeks. If they keep a steady flow of stuff along with the 6-hour new game trials it's definitely worth the $30 a year they're asking.
