Grats to Gundam and the Seahawks. Definitely one of my favorite non-Michigan teams. Really like how intelligent and socially conscious many of the players are. I remember when some black people were disappointed by some of Richard Sherman's comments on race but it didn't bother me because I knew the debates and discussions in that locker room would result in him approaching the issue better. And it did. So daps to them.
The game went like I figured it would go, however I thought we'd at least score one TD. We were clearly the worst football team in the playoffs, and so far the only one that didn't score a TD in the first round. I can't imagine any of the teams today will play as poorly as we did last night offensively.
-Terrible playcalling. That 4th and 1 call was the definition of being too smart/too stupid. QB sneak? Nope. Zenner up the middle? Nope. Let's roll the QB out the pocket! SMH. Speaking of Zenner up the middle, that's literally the only run play that works with him. It's been clear for weeks yet we're still trying to do weird run plays with him. He's not fast enough to beat elite DEs to the sideline. Period. So why is that play still being called 18 weeks into the season?
-Yea Stafford is injured but a finger injury doesn't make you make bad decisions. He made a few last night and is lucky he didn't have a couple INTs.
-O line didn't play terrible despite the injuries. Still it's clear we'll be drafting another guard in April
Bottom line: I think we have a good GM, he had a very successful first draft. Now it's time to continue that process and build more depth. We basically have one good CB and one starter quality safety in the secondary. The d-line got pressure on Wilson but has been inconsistent all year...we need a better DE to pair with Ansah. And our LBs are meh to bad.
And we need another RB. Abdullah and Riddick are too injury prone to rely on; I really believe the team would have been much better if both were healthy. Thank god Mayhew isn't GM anymore because lord knows he'd trade up to get Fournette or Cook. I'd take either if they fell to us (outside the 1st round) but I wouldn't trade picks for them.
