Yeah, I was talking about well-mannered Japanese, so obviously not the old men, who are objectively the worst old men of any fucking country I swear.
...
Wow, I think I might agree. It's gotta be rough, overworking one's entire life, losing touch with one's own family by being constantly ABSENT, overworking so badly that there's no room for hobbies, only to retire and have NO relationship with family, and NOTHING to do with one's time. We've got guys in my town who aren't welcome in their own home; e.g. one wife doesn't want her husband hanging around, because he'll just sit in front of the TV all day, and ask her to bring him things, expecting to be waited upon, like he used to to on weekends, except it is now all-day, every day, so she kicks him out every morning.
It's also impossible to pick up any usable Japanese from them, because they're always talking without moving their lips or jaw, barely annunciating, and then they're stunned why I can't understand what they've said, so they'll just repeat it more loudly. It's so endemic to have middle-aged and older guys annunciate poorly that I've been told I pronounce words like a woman. Bring it, dawg, at least people can understand me.
