You know, I think this is Sega's plan all along. Be so horrendously shitty that they take Nintendo down with them. It's like post-mortem revenge.

If I hadn't already seen Nintendo shit the bed for the last two E3's I'd have said the stage was set for them to pleasantly surprise people here, but they have... and their messaging has been so poor over the last year too.

Either they've been saving things for this very kind of moment, or they are going to continue the general cross-platform industry malaise.

I am fingers crossed for bombs to be dropped, but not holding my breath

In one of the games, which Miyamoto called Project Giant Robot, players control sky-scraping automatons, angling the Wii U GamePad in front of a TV screen while shifting their torsos left and right or up and down to maneuver the robot’s upper-body while thumbing the controller’s joysticks to punch or grab — almost like a full-body game of Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots. The GamePad shows you what the robot sees, while the TV screen offers a zoomed-back view, letting onlookers — as well as you — admire your tromping, pummeling handiwork.

Quote
In another, titled Project Guard, the GamePad became a quick-jump map of a fortress manned by numbered, laser-firing security cameras. As robots encroach on different entry points, you have to tap the GamePad to leap from camera to camera, blasting enemies that trundle or come at you sprinting — even some that sneak under your radar. All the while, onlookers can shout out the numbers that correspond to robot-threatened camera feeds, turning your defense operations into a frenetic, heart-racing, tap-and-fire scramble.

Starfox sounds a hard sell. As do the other 'small' projects he's been working on. Robotic torso twisting? Helicopters in Star Fox? Could be genius instead of shit, but it sounds complex enough to have my expectations firmly in check

They released a single StarFox game in the DS/Wii era. It wasn't really good, but you'd be pressed to say they were milking it then.

i didn't mean that as in that they released a lot of them, i mean that in that they gave the ip to rare first to make starfox adventures, then they gave the ip to namco to make starfox assault for the gamecube... then they gave the ip to (checks wikipedia) a dev i had no idea it even existed to make starfox command, they loaned the ip to everybody without any fuck given

the real news shouldn't be "nintendo is releasing a new starfox" the real news here should be "nintendo is making their own damn videogame"

basicaly what i'm saying is that nintendo makes fox cry

I like how these 'games' are still under project titles like it is 2005 and they are still trying to show us the potential innovating game play of the wii.  Project look at what the wiiu can do 1,2, and 3.  To be sold for 40$ as Nintendo land 2 in 2 years.

(Image removed from quote.)

That dev you don't know is Dylan Cuthbert's company.  You might know him as the fucking creator of Starfox, you distinguished mentally-challenged fellow.

Two GameCube games, one developed by an internal studio, and a DS game from more or less the team that created Starfox doesn't really sound like Wii/DS whoring to me.

allright, you know what, let's try a different approach... those games gave us this

i rest my case on nintendo not giving a fuck about starfox anymore since 2002 your honor

Krystal was alright. It was the bafomdads and krazoa spirits, the shitty Andros twist and game save that locked you into a final boss fight with no option for exploration. Game looked so good and sucked so bad! Beginning of the end for Rare.

Those two remind me of that sizzle real Nintendo showed off at the E3 before the Wii launched. The Wii U has already been out for 18 months.
