Yeah, it looks like it's all over the place.

I can see why Nintendo gave it to IGN.

Expectations were so low, the excitement is for slightly going beyond what was hoped; which was utter hopelessness.

Announcements:

  • Super Smash Bros. (October for 3DS, Holiday for Wii U) has Mii characters and Palutena as playable characters
  • Amiibo is Nintendo's NFP figurine platform, launching with Smash; place figures on the gamepad to bring them into the game, your stats are tied to your specific figure
  • Zelda Wii U (2015) is open world-esque, do dungeons in any order and go anywhere you see
  • Yoshi's Wooly World (2015) is basically Epic Yarn for Yoshi
  • Kirby and the Rainbow Curse (2015) is a sequel to Canvas Curse and has a clay aesthetic
  • Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire (November 21) were shown, basically confirms that the boxart versions of Groudon and Kyogre are new forms/Mega Evolutions
  • Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker (Holiday 2014) is basically the Toad levels from Super Mario 3D Land blown out into a full game
  • Mario Maker (2015) lets you make levels in either SMB1 (NES) or NSMBU (Wii U) style
  • Hyrule Warrios (September 2014) has Link, Zelda, Impa, and Midna as playable characters
  • Xenoblade Chronicles X (2015) is a full sequel to the first game (previously just "X")
  • Bayonetta 2 (October 2014) includes the first game with Samus and Zelda outfits
  • Splatoon (2015) is a new Nintendo four-player shooter where you spray ink and turn into squid
  • Devil's Third (2015?) by Itagaki is Wii U exclusive
  • Mario Party 10 (2015) has Amiibo support, play as Bowser and be a jerk

Devils Third looks fucking horrendous.  :lol  It's going to be fun watching Nintendo diehards stanning for it.

But I guess it fills a much maligned gap in Nintendo's game selection.

Well Xenoblade looked ok except for those ugly character designs. At least it seems like it has an actual single player. Still, that game must be a long way off.

Bayonetta is cool, but the game is going to bomb and be able to get for cheap quickly so no need to pick up a Wii U for it.

So maybe in 2016 when Xenoblade comes out the wiii will be cheap enough used to buy. Nothing else on the system is worth money.

Splatoon is AWFUL you're an idiot for being interested in that shovelware

Yoshi Yarn: Cute, but baby
Kirby Rainbow Curse: Claymation Kirby, and Canvas Curse was awesome
Zelda Scrolls: Cool
Xenoblade 2: No contest, best of E3 again (2 years running!)
Bayo 2 plus Bayo 1 surprise: Cool
Captain Toad: Cool
Splatoon: Fail, waste of resources
NFC Toys: Cool desk trinkets, probably have resale value in the long run
Smash Bros: Nobody cares
No announcement of Smash Bros Gamecube Pad: Fail

Honestly I'm really suspicious of an open world zelda.  I don't think Nintendo will break enough with staples of the formula to take any real advantage of it.  The last ds zelda did have less of an order to the dungeons though so it might be OK.

in-engine don't mean much.  that uncharted video was in-engine too.

that said, the style is nice and nintendo generally doesn't put out unpolished games.  worse case it's 720p stable 30fps.  and I hope nintendo learn about anti aliasing before it comes out.

yeah, 2-3 nintendo games vs 1-2 sony games vs 0-2 microsoft game.  nothing in 2014  :-\

tbh if nintendo went before the others it would've been pretty bad.  nintendo benefited from everyone else slumming it before them.
