If you started last gen when you were 19 years old (me), then you're now 29 years old (also me). Pretty hard for most people to get invested and do meltdowns when there was practically a decade in between the new systems (yeesh). Esch seems to have it right. The reason for the meltdowns and caring last gen was because most of us were late teens, early 20's, or mid-20's when last gen started. Why the fuck is Drinky going to make a Sslore hating thread right now when he's got a daughter, and nearing his 40's? The game done changed.

Pretty sure you'll find plenty of that console meltdown somewhere on the internet where there's teenagers or some shit, though.

When I notice her breathing changing... She's slowing down. I ask her what's wrong? She shakes her head.
So I pull her off me and hold her. I ask her did I hurt you? She says no... and bursts into tears.
I'm like wtf did I just do??
She tells me she lied... her ex wasn't the only guy. I'm like it doesn't matter.
She tries to control her crying and explains to me how she was raped when she was 12 by a bunch of men in the park...
I didn't know what to do or say or anything at this point... So I just held her in my arms... stroked her hair.
I told her she's with me now, it's ok. After like 30 minutes she stopped.
She then looked up at me and said I understand if you want to leave me. I don't want you feel guilted into staying. If anything I'd rather you leave now than stay with me because you feel bad for me.
I tell her no... I don't want to leave her. That I think she's amazing.

We go to sleep and in the morning she asks me if I'm angry or dissapointed, I tell her she did nothing wrong.

Now I'm home, and I feel awful that I made her cry that bad... How can I fix this?
Should I suggest therapy or something? Am I going out of line suggesting that?
She texted me saying she's going to ask her family what she can do to fix things...
I don't know what to do... I love her but I can't stand her feeling like that. The look on her face haunts me.

Vice City had the worst map but the soundtrack fit the game perfectly.

Maybe you're onto something Mr. Nobody, the map being so tiny and traversal being so straightforward makes the music grating for someone like myself. San Andreas has you driving/flying/boating a fuck ton more than Vice City, and the soundtrack needed to have road trip music so to speak. Plus San Andreas has classic rock along with modern alternative stuff, which in the end feels a lot more varied than synth ballads versus non synth ballads versus hard rock/metal.

I think every GTA since GTA3 has had a soundtrack that fits the city/mood/atmosphere of the game. Vice City is the most glitzy, dolled up city in the series, so the soundtrack reflecting that is both a positive and negative, but a personal negative rather than an absolute one.

i hate playing vice city because i can't figure out how to map the buttons to a controller (which is objectively how gta games are best played) but the soundtrack and atmosphere are some of the best of the series.

He gets super defensive if people joke about what he posts, but he himself is stumped about comedy/humor as a concept, why people continued to play games after the Super Nintendo, he's even stumped on the concept of movie watching. A coworker told me that the reason they skipped 9 was because there's a ton of code in the Windows kernel that checks for version 9x and so they thought it would be easier just to skip the number instead of coding around all that.

Windows 8.1 was technically Windows 9 or some cheeky shit.

Only big gaming news I can see coming from this OS thingy is Xbox One owners can play PC games and PC owners can now play Xbox One games. Microsoft will never give a shit about PC owners enough to do anything worthwhile in that space. And after Games with Windows Live, they should probably stay out altogether.

Don't know what there is to get hyped about regarding a new Windows operating system. Best case scenario is it'll be faster, retain compatibility with stuff, and be better on a technical level.

EDIT: Guess I was wrong about Windows 8.1 = Windows 9. Have no clue then.

Windows 8 forced me to 8.1 yesterday after like two years of ducking it. I do have to give Drinky/MS props: It did speed up some of the sluggishness I had with 8.

I'm really hoping Windows X (Window Sex, get it? Anyone?

) is their "we fucked up with Win 8" goodwill tour. The fact they're tearing Metro's full-screen out is a good start. Now if they could fix the games they fucked up with 8 that worked fine in 7 (granted not a lot of them but still)... I'd almost forgive them.
