Vanquish is proof that videogames are art. Best tps ever by far.

but I wouldn't call a video game forum--even one as refined and well-regarded as NeoGAF--a "formal setting" such that proper citation is necessary.

Still haven't played Vanquish.

Any recommendation on 360 vs PS3 version?

Either one works, it isn't a Bayonetta situation. Though, IIRC Mikami made the PS3 verison lead?

Yeah, don't matter. Played on PS3 back when it came out and loved it.

Don't know if he has much of an economics background--I'm guessing not given how uneconomical he is in his diction--but, for example, even an econ noob would know that dividends aren't income despite being discussed in Subsection A of the IRC (that's the income tax section for you civilians). The IRC even defines them as something other than income (despite previously saying they are income for the purposes of determining gross income, no benji).

Ew, 360 doesn't have V-sync? Go with PS3 then.

it's funny because these guys are normally movie reviewers and it's pretty common for trash movies to get raked over the coals when they're offensively bad. so this is just par for the course. you want to be a movie? you get the treatment a bad movie gets.

but because these babies are only used to video game reviews that are mostly at kid-gloves level, they start crying.

How does a game  that reuses a fight for the final boss keep getting these fanboys to defend it? I want to know so that I can make a hyped bad game for them so we can feast like this for the rest of our lives.

If the higher difficulties make the games play differently (different fights in Bayonetta or DMC for example) or make levels more challenging then I'm on that like a pig on shit.

If the enemies become damage sponges then nope.

Nah, I can't do easy modes...I need a challenge.

But if I'm stuck on a puzzle or something for more than 5-10 minutes, I'm going to Gamefaqs.

The days of me being stuck in a game for weeks are long gone  :gurl

There are a few games that are legit made to played on the hardest difficulty and still be enjoyable but it's certainly a small percentage of the overall game market. But hey, some people are a lot better than me, and that level of challenge for them is either fun or not especially difficult.

The games that use the insult difficulty name thing are generally in genres that relish the idea of nerd challenge or old school challenge. Yeah its childish but its videogames. I could see if it was half of the game market doing this. Maybe that would be annoying. But its a tiny tiny percentage that do. Not everything has to be for everybody.

Especially when your game is kill the Nazi's and your character is named "B.J." Blazkowicz.

Personally I only bump up the difficulty when I'm familiar with a franchise and I know their version of normal is really easy. COD, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, would be examples of that.

Thats fine, but that thread is about someone getting angry that the game pokes a little fun about playing on the easiest node.

i've started playing more AAA trash from a reclined position with a controller. suddenly those games make so more sense. playing a modern third person cover based shooter on a computer with a mouse and keyboard is like putting on your best aftershave to go for a wank.

encounters that were wack-a-mole formalities with frustratingly minimal mobility turn into tense shoot outs as you struggle to nudge your reticle onto the head of whatever generic bad guy is making your screen go red for two seconds at a time.

Hell, no matter the platform I play Third Person or First Person shooters on Hard or the Hardest mode available since depending on how comfortable you are with controller/Keyboard and Mouse you can literally blow through the enemies in seconds depending on how fast you aim.

Now hack and slash titles like Devil May Cry or Ninja Gaiden? I go with Normal or one step above Easy and then attempt to work my way up.

EL doesn't seem to want look at me type posters in his mod ranks anymore, so I can't see those getting mod status. I don't mind Angelus like others here.  And all the old school posters don't respect Amirox, something you kinda need as a mod.

Mods tend to quite down as well when promoted. It happens like clockwork. Kinda sad since better posters just stop posting as frequently. I remember Stump used to post a shitload as a member, but then started to less and less as mod.

I noticed it with EatChildren who was a great poster before he became a mod but then he just seemed to stop posting as much after getting a red name.

Yeah. I think many mods just don't want to put their foot in their mouths due to their elevated status.

I gotta give it to Opiate, he post a ton and poster give him shit all the time and he takes it in stride.

Confusing Jazz was cool. I remember him from back in the day. Don't know the rest. Honestly they've done a good job of picking mods in recent years. I've liked most of the people who got modded.

It hasn't improved the quality of GAF but I don't blame them for that.
