It's hard for me to make a judgement here because I've never met those people but the European xenophobia does seem to be a problem. Yet at the same time when you see pics of Roma residences it makes sense why there would be hostility, not that it justifies the attitude or anything, but it's pretty understandable. Honestly, I get annoyed when Americans talk shit about some other nations culture being racist or whatever, as if to deflect and show to the world that America isn't the only place where racism happens to which I reply,"no shit" and then continue to let native Americans live on poor ass land.
The French Arab xenophobia is a terrible thing.
The arab world's racism towards Indians and Asian is pretty fucking brutal sometimes, when calling someone a "hindi" means "distinguished mentally-challenged" you know there's an ingrained issue there. Racism towards black and white people(the white one is more of the perverse kind) still exists on quite the scale but not as big of an issue as the former.
I find it funny when someone calls america or even the big european countries the most racist places in the world, it sucks but pales in comparison to many parts of the world. I much prefer to live here and then back there for example, and I live in Montana of all places.
Often, it doesn't feel like the people talking about the racism in places abroad care about fixing the racism as it feels like they're dealing with some inferiority complex where they have to prove that other places are as bad as America. I find it pretty sad and it comes off as concerned trolling. Phoenix literally said on the last page that he can't wait for Europe to get in bad times just so racism and xenophobia can bubble out. Like they act like they care about the struggles of those abroad, but they really don't, and just use it as a talking point to feel better than Europeans.
Racism in America is pretty fucking bad. A huge population here is in jail for nothing other than race. The other month, the media and others thought it was a-okay to kill an 18 year old because of blunts. I'd take being called a distinguished mentally-challenged fellow over that.
My point is that racism is racism, and I don't quite understand why anyone would debate which places is worse, or that haha Europeans are racist too, because it doesn't solve the core issue.
