I have no cherished PS1 memory. Never owned one. Didn't even really play videogames much during the N64/Saturn/PSX generation outside some random PC games like flight sims, Star Wars stuff and Final Fantasy VII.

My cherised PS1 memory was using a toothpick to keep the lid open with the disc running cause that's how you used to run imported/bootleg games back then and everyone in elementary / middle school wanted a taste of that Dragon Ball Final Bout.

Bought a WiiU today. The Mario Kart 8 Bundle from Walmart. Nintedo Land included as well. $299 and a $50 gift card seemed like a good deal. Hopefully my nieces enjoy Mario Kart.

Mario 64 is still a lot of fun, but for some reason it's a really lonely game. Like when I'm playing it, on a lot of stages, I feel like I have no friends left in the world.

Particularly that stage where you have to raise and lower the water level. Fuck that place.

Yeah I've had friends try to relive the glory of Goldeneye and all I can do is sit there and be miserable. Game is just shit today. Tired to go back to Perfect Dark and everything about it is kind of garbage now.

Star Fox 64 is still good though.

Plenty of PS1 games are actually ok though and scale fine on the PSP. MGS1 is still very playable. Ace Combat 3 is a really good game I recently discovered. Vagrant Story, Saga Frontier, and Parasite Eve I think still hold up.

Some aged decent. Hybrid Heaven still owns. Vagrant Story still rapes. Conker was never very good, but the Matrix level owned. There are some gems still.

My PSX memory is getting FFVII, Silent Hill, Soul Reaver and MGS for Xmas when I got the system. Shit was so piff. I got hooked on FFVII and even printed out a huge strategy guide from Gamefaqs and my dad put that shit in a binder for me :tocry

My pops been dead almost 8 years now :tocry Still think about you, nicca

When spoiler culture gets out of hand. It's everything that Hitokage hated.  >:(

Bad enough that people treat a video game PR press events like things that can be "spoiled", they then expect the whole internet to not talk about it until they've had the time and commodity to watch it themselves.

It's actually potentially my least favorite main-line Mario game but it not winning a poll of all the games with a plurality or even a majority would surprise me. Or have too many voters whose first Nintendo was a DS.

Body Harvest was basically their test run at translating GTA into 3D. (Though they were being developed at the same time.)

If only Rare had chased Blast Corps instead of some of those other franchises/genres...

That Zelda demo reminds me of what I imagined Twilight Princess to be. TP is my fave 3D Zeruda but I was initially disappointed that they took out forest travel. I mean it was in most of the trailers leading up to release.  >:(

If they keep the best part of TP (the amazing and numerous dungeons), improve the structure of Link Between Worlds, and have that massive open world they're showing, it might just be the best one ever and cut straight to the core of the what the series actually is.
