I don't think Tyler actually cares about games with objectionable content. Dude just doesn't want to upset the google overlords. That's why only the stuff that gets pushed to the forefront of discussion via censorship news (and other controversies) like CG/DT2/Hatred get banned while other stuff like Demon Gaze gets a pass.
I could be wrong of course since it seems like every other site doesn't give a shit.
Demon Gaze gets a pass because what little "lewd" content it has is massively tame compared to just those four images from DT2/the entire concept of Criminal Girls.
Seems dumb to ban discussion on those games if you're still gonna keep the pedophiles around and not ban them as well.
Ah, didn't know that. Only know that people were using the "WHY DEMON GAZE NOT BAND THEN!?!?" defense in a lot of those threads. Barely know a thing about any of them since I'm not into non-SMT dungeon crawlers or card games.
Of course, there is stuff worse than the banned games allowed, but that's probably due to them flying under the radar.
Image searching for Demon Gaze and DT2 give some pretty clear results of the difference in priorities.
Really, its just weird seeing them be quick to ban discussion on those games when OTs for full blown eroge get a pass. Ironically, the people who post in the latter's threads know how to keep their threads less creepy/NSFW than the others.
Huh, going by that, Demon Gaze looks about as objectionable as Neptunia. Makes sense I guess.
And yeah, eroge OTs. Saya no Uta has one, which has an underage-looking girl in it, which logically should make it FAR more objectionable than anything rated by the ESRB. Thing is people aren't idiots in those threads and there was no censorship debacle. Dungeon Travelers and Criminal Girls both had civil import OTs (as Bebpo can tell you). Wasn't until the controversy started that they got banned.
I was thinking at first that from an advertising perspective it would be really fucking easy to segment Creepy-GAF and run targeted ads at them, which would explain why Lore would want to keep them around. The one downside to this logic is that I don't think the companies that put out pedo-bait shit are even allowed on AdSense.
I'm taking a digital marketing class right now, actually, but we haven't covered a lot of this stuff yet.
There's Crunchyroll ads all over the damn place on Gaf, and I've definitely seen NISA ones too. Hell, I feel like I saw a Criminal Girls one back in February.
I think EL doesn't outright ban animegaf because of the CR ads. Dude is probably making bank on those alone.
