Atheism is shit tier logic to me given one cannot prove there is no god. My general view...is there a god or all powerful deity? Maybe, maybe not, I have no fucking idea; there's no evidence either way. But if there is a god I'm going to assume it didn't reveal itself to a bunch of bumblefuckers in the middle east a few thousand years ago. Or any other humans for that matter.

If a loving God existed, would he allow you to be taking L's like this in the Ant-Man crow eating thread over Avatar?

you got the logic completely backwards. the burden of proof is on people claiming there is a god, not the other way around.

it's an old analogy but it's the best one. if i walked up to you and said "there's a golden teacup floating in space" would you believe me? i offer no proof other than saying it's there. why would you believe me? without any substantial proof to back up my claim the assumption is that it's not true. same thing for god. it can't be proven therefore it's disregarded until proof can be provided.
This right here. Agnosticism is a diplomatic escape route for optimist scum. :ufup PD and Ruzbeh. There's no reason to even pose the question whether a deity exists or not. Besides wishful thinking, that is.

Quote
"What most distinguishes Avakian's Away With All Gods from other much publicized books of this kind, such as those by Dawkins, Harris, and Hitchens, is the direct connection Avakian makes between combating religious fundamentalism and promoting a radical political agenda. Avakian is also to be commended not only for combining his religious freethinking with an endorsement of the modern Enlightenment tradition, but also for providing a sober warning against 'the smug arrogance of the enlightened.' Anyone who has read any of the other books mentioned above should also take the time to read this one."
—Allen Wood, author of Karl Marx and Kantian Ethics

Review from Synergy Magazine

"Away with All Gods!  is a powerful and erudite critique of religion and superstition and a rousing call to place our trust in reason and the scientific method....Unusual for an atheist work and in marked difference to works of Sam Harris and Richard Dawkins Avakian went further to explore the way in which religion is used to sustain the status quo and as a reactionary force by political power mongers...He stands against not only religion and superstition but for reason and science and shows us what an alternative way of living can really be like. More importantly he shows us the revolutionary potential of finally doing away with all gods and what such a new world could look like."

Review from the San Francisco Atheists Newsletter

"His final section contrasts religion to reason and the scientific method, and religion as an obstacle to political and economic liberation. Most of my favorite points of the book came from this section. He notes that we need awe and wonder - but not superstitious awe. He also challenges those who say religions and myths are valuable because they offer 'new insight into the deeper meaning of life,' arguing that who is to say what 'the deeper meaning of life' is, especially if religious claims are divorced from reality in the first place?"

Praise for Away With All Gods!
"Whether readers enthusiastically embrace or reject its claims and arguments, Away With All Gods! is a book that cannot be ignored."
—Peter McLaren, Professor, Graduate School of Education and Information Studies, University of California

"One needn't be a Marxist to learn a lot from this work. I especially like the forthright critique of the obfuscating epistemology of religion, and of religion's appalling consequences for women."
—Laura Purdy, Professor of Humanities and Professor of Philosophy, Wells College

"Forceful, scathing, and timely. While I did not personally agree with everything Bob Avakian has to say in this book, I found his arguments cogently articulated and provocatively put forth. Angry, humorous, provocative, and hopeful in equal measure, this was an enjoyable and engaging read."
—Phil Zuckerman, associate professor of sociology at Pitzer College

"Lots of people haven't actually studied what that Bible says. Bob Avakian has. He exposes the hypocritical bullshit...this book is serious reading."
—Eric G., former Black Panther member

"...may just spearhead a return to the Age of Reason."
—Harry Lennix, actor, instructor

Quote
Is believing in gods actually harmful? How has Christianity for centuries served as an ideology of conquest and subjugation? Why is the "Bible Belt" in the U.S. also the "lynching belt"? Why is there a rise of religious fundamentalism throughout the world? In the intensifying conflict between U.S. imperialism and Islamic fundamentalism, is the only choice to take one side or the other? Why is patriarchy and the oppression of women foundational to so many religions? Can people be good without god? These are just some of the questions explored in this provocative work by Bob Avakian.

Bringing a unique revolutionary communist voice to the current discourse about god, atheism and morality, Avakian demystifies religious belief and examines how, even in its most progressive interpretations, religion stands in the way of the emancipation of humanity. A thread deeply woven throughout Away With All Gods! is the need to fully rupture with all forms of superstition, and to take up instead a truly scientific approach to understanding and transforming reality.

Whether you believe in god, or are an agnostic or an atheist, Bob Avakian will challenge you with his powerful critique of long-established traditions and his liberating vision of a radically different world.

Aren't they already doing massive bank ? With a come back of sorts as the genre really picked up after years of fumbling effort since the nineties (I see the current trend going from The Crow, Barb Wire, The Shadow, Batman... to today) ?

Fill ¾ of the shot with absinthe. Put in on fire. Place the absinthe spoon with the cube of sugar on top the shot glass and wait until the crystals of sugar fill in the rest of the glass. Then blow off the fire and very quickly  drink it through the straw. Be careful with the choice of the shot glasses. A lot of them are not able to withstand the heat from the fire. So they better be fire-resistant.

*bartender pours the spirit, I resume my conversation with my friend*

*bartender puts contraption over the mouth of the glass and puts a sugar cube on top*

*bartender pulls out a lighter and goes to light the sugar cube on fire*
