Went to grab some Taco Bell today cause fuck it. They asked me to pull my car around, so I do. I wait around for a bit and then a lady in a Taco Bell uniform comes out, looks at me, looks at the food she's carrying and then walks really quickly to the car next to me. Five minutes later, the dude comes out and asks if anyone brought out my order. I tell him about the lady and he says "Oh shit".

The Taco Bell lady stole my food.  :gloomy

On the plus side, I got like 3x the amount of free food than I ordered (free tacos, burrito, cinnamon jizz balls, apple pie things, and a soda and I only ordered a potato taco and some nachos supreme) and the manager came out to apologize. So that's nice. Still, I spent 20 minutes waiting in a Taco Bell parking lot tonight. :(

Yeah the struggle was mainly waiting around at Taco Bell forever. But it was worth it in the end.

Baby shower for a 3rd kid? Don't they have all the stuff left over from the first 2? I guess I can see it if the first 2 are 10 years older.

Regular oreos are way better than double stuffed, the best part of an oreo is the chocolate cookie part, the creme just compliments the cookie.

The gimmick oreo flavors amount to a game of Russian roulette, some are really good, some are pretty bad.

At various points today, I'll get to hear Dennis Bartell, Alan Chapman, AND Rich Caparella solicit me for money.

Jim Svedja has the most entertaining donation drive soliloquies, but I probably won't be driving during the evening hour.

Lessee-

My left wrist also started hurting after I woke up yesterday.  I'd think it was PC-related but I use a mouse with my right hand.

Today is fucking dragging on and on and on.  Only got like 45 minutes left but the work day has felt like three days combined.  Have a lot of packing left to do before getting out of our apartment and time is running out.  This is the only full weekend we have left-- have to be out on the 28th.  I just want to get the fuck home and get to it!   :punch

I feel for you.  I see these kinds of requests come through us at the worst possible times and think how much it must suck for the techs to have to rush to get things set up because some lazy idiot couldn't email earlier.

Hit a pothole and blew out a tire this afternoon. This was not helped by the fact that I was running on ~3 hours of sleep because I stayed out until after 2am last night drafting MTG. I need to stop doing that, but those 17-21y/o punk-ass kids ain't gonna kick their own asses (although, bless their hearts, they try).

Honestly, I would give them money for all the good content I get but don't complain about on the internet even with the insufferable panhandling and promises of bad compact disc collections, but it'll be a cold day in hell before I write a check to USC.

All that's left on the registry is gag, bra/panty stuff, fml x2.

obviously I ain't going out like that, so I'll get some other baby related non sense instead.

Every night as I try to sleep my mind is like waves broken on rocks but not yet drawn back into the sea, which is a cliched metaphor for saying I'm fucking bonkers after X hours of working and Y hours of chemical additives and Z hours of privation.

Anyway, during this stage last night I decided that it would be a good idea to learn Esperanto. When you are quite literally a rootless cosmopolitan, why not take up a constructed culture?

Plus despite its artificial nature it's still a eurocentric and sexist language so I can feed my insatiable need to feel guilty. :noah

Aside from the USC-UCLA football game I actually haven't much followed sport of any kind for months. The only pleasures left are reading and agriculture and I'm not a kibbutznik yet.

I do think about utterly ridiculous things no matter the circumstance, however.

On a related note, I don't much care for a comrade at the commune's main squeeze but today I noticed they had a John Player Special world champion sticker on their straight out of the first Fast and the Furious movie tuned hooptie and I had to begrudgingly give them props for having good taste in Formula 1 fandom.

I've been trying to get into F1 since it's the sport of assholes but I just don't think I'll ever be into driving or cars. NBCSN HD makes it perfect background material though. Mastered the art of bland, barely noticeable commentary.

Its current incarnation is really terrible, don't feel bad. The highest tier of racing in the world uses fucking V6 engines and highly restricts the amount of testing teams can do. Some of the regular courses are really bad too. (And not just because they've divested from Europe, Monaco has been unsuited to the sport for as long as I can remember.)

The V10 era was :lawd doe. (Unless you hated Schumie I guess.)

Why can't I find a simple program that'll mount .cue files properly  :goty2

I have Virtual Clone Drive and that mounts everything except cues

WinCDEmu didn't work

Daemon Tools/Lite does apparently but everytime I read up on it, someone gets infected with malware even if they know what they're doing when they install it

ImgBurn only knows how to burn cue files despite having options to create images from other image related files

Had to go to the bank today and saw a guy I know who works maintenance there. We're not friends but I've been seeing him at various places for the last 6-7 years. He used to work at a grocery store I go to and is now at the bank. Good dude, real friendly. Anyway he was walking out as I walked in and during a quick conversation he told me that his maintenance group got chastised  by the bank's management recently. They clean late at night, and during the process they put a sign up in one of the halls that's titled "Da Responsibilities." Da as in slang for "the." It's a list of all the cleaning priorities (clean x, make sure to do y, remember to turn off z, etc).

Apparently some senior analyst came by late to pick up something, saw the list, and reported it to management for being unprofessional (due to "da" being used instead of the). He said his cleaning crew has never received complaints about the job they do, but management basically told  them they're on notice now.
:mindblown

I asked if the sign could be viewed from outside the bank - perhaps management thought a customer using the outside ATM could look inside and see the sign. But he told me it's not even near the front, it's in a hall.

Anti-abortion protesters delayed me in the Taco Bell drive-thru twice. First when they decided to saunter to their lifemobile through the drive-thru, and second when the verkakte goy in front of me waved them back to give them promotional items.

Nothing is sacred to these degenerates. Not unimpeded voluntary commercial transactions, and definitely not the Bell.

I had something similar happen to me. One of my employees told me they were going to complain because the janitor was singing when they cleaned up after hours and it was distracting. I told them that they could complain when they janitor made as much as they did and when they spent a large part of their job dealing with other people's garbage and mess. I swear some people really don't have any empathy at all.

This really resonated with me as well; I just don’t get it when people are mean for no reason. They must feel powerless in something else in life which frustrates them, but against which they feel they cannot act. Probably parents?

I enjoy the old adage that you can tell a person’s true nature by observing how they treat people to whom they are under no obligation to be nice.

Your example is not only of someone being mean, but actually going out of their way to complain about someone else’s unrelated means of making their job a little less shitty. Fuck them.

I got a grilled stuffed burrito the other day, and it definitely feels like it got nerfed from its previous incarnation, kind of like the pistol after Halo CE. Nowhere near as good as it once was.

People here seem to have a lot of love for the crunchwrap. I only ordered it once, and it was like 60% lettuce.

Order it without lettuce, they always put more of everything on there. Just a little thing I found out by hating lettuce my entire life.
YMMV
