How old are you to know a famous travel writer when you see one or did he just approach you and say 'I'm a famous travel writer, fancy a suck?'

Well adjusted people have these things called "conversations" where we discuss topics like employment or the weather or local sports teams.

Life is good right now. I can say for the first time since things went south with my ex-wife in May that I am content. It took time and a lot of actual work but I am starting to feel like the old me again. I'll try not to act like it on the forums, though.

So I'm pretty sure the Washington Post stole a scoop of mine.

I published this yesterday at 3pm:

https://insurgentsia.com/2016/12/05/trumps-national-security-adviser-tweeted-fake-news-that-inspired-d-c-pizzeria-shooter/

Greg Miller of the Washington Post published this yesterday at 8pm (and it went out in the print edition this morning):

https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/designated-national-security-adviser-and-his-son-are-among-those-pushing-clinton-conspiracy-theory/2016/12/05/0b365b78-bb15-11e6-94ac-3d324840106c_story.html

You might be thinking, "You are delusional. Greg Miller has no idea you exist. It's a coincidence." Well, I'd agree with you except:

I got scooped, brehs.

My Laphroaig Cairdeas 2016 came today.  Its very cool.  The initial taste is pretty sweet and fruity then it goes to a standard Laphroaig smoke finish.  Like it a lot more than the 10 year.

Speaking of Laphroaig 10 year, I came in and found a brand new bottle of it on my desk this morning courtesy my boss.

Went to a specialty cocktail bar in Osaka last night. Place had NO SIGNS to let anyone know it was in the building. Unmarked in the elevator as well. I'll take pictures next time I'm there; churchlike interior with textured walls and lots of metalwork built by some former MTV production designer. Bartender spoke fluent English and crafted a specialty Old Fashioned with Laphroiag and some form of captured smoke from cherrywood. It was insane.

All of this was on the heels of a riverside beer while freezing my cajones off, and four bottles of sake with some sashimi at my favorite sushi spot. So in the end, I mixed ALL the alcohols.

Feeling it today. Brain fog. Worth it.

Shot over 100+ gigabytes of footage for over five hours today. Was on my feet without a break for 5.5 hours. Had to herd 11 cats, er, actors around (only 2-4 were needed for any given shot.) Didn't have a completed shot list and had to improvise on the fly for half of it. Had to rush through a couple things as people had hard stops. Could barely speak at the end because my throat was super sore from being dehydrated/possible strep.

It was so incredibly worth it. The footage and performances I got were amazing. Some great action. This is really some next-level fillmmaking from me and I can't wait to finish the whole thing. Between today and the 4+ hours shooting outside in the cold last week, I'm over the hill on this project, thankfully.

I get it, but only because the results bear out the answer. I don't get it due to theory. Once in a while I will read it again and it'll click, but then in about 2 hours it leaves my brain again.

Ya same, I always understood the math just not the reasoning, which is this:

if Monty knows where the goats and the prizes will be and you switch:

1) If you picked a goat on your first pick, then he will rule out the remaining goat for you.
2) If you didn't pick a goat at the start then he doesn't give you any helpful info.

This means that what you want to do is pick a goat door at the start and NOT the prize, which you have 2/3 chance of doing.  Basically his knowledge lets you reverse the probability on your first choice.

Yeah, I read the wiki once again and got it so I hope it sticks. Monty is holding 2/3rds of the odds after you choose the first door and after he reveals a goat, the remaining door now inherits the 2/3rds odds.
