I tried to get two differents ones a few weeks ago but apparently having credit is a prerequisite to getting a credit card.

Yeah, looks like everything's okay in terms of my health. And I plan on going to the hospital with my tax returns to show them how poor I am and see if they can get me on some kind of payment plan at least, because a lump sum payout of more than 3 big ones just isn't going to happen.

I got a Capital One when I was 18. Had a $300 limit and they refused to increase the credit limit (a smart move on their part) until years later when I graduated college.

I know something has gone terribly wrong because I'm giving paternal advice but when you're rich a credit card is even more important as it's part of your "I'm actually rich" identification to other rich people, upwardly ambitious people who aren't rich and probably never will be because they're ambitious instead of smart or useful, and the brave men and women of the servile class. Losing your American Express black card is practically the modern day equivalent of being scourged.

Also, not to sound like a parental unit, but if your household economics are as such that you find yourself unable to afford food or absorb emergency costs, it's probably a good opportunity to step back and evaluate your lifestyle and your ability to support that lifestyle. Pets aren't children where you can get some of that sweet government assistance and having access to short-term credit is super important (if only to cushion you from emergencies).

Ya. When I meant I'm out of money, I mean my emergency fund is low, which is stressful because I can't absorb much more.

Spent an hour so far trying to figure out why Apple TV is no longer streaming my purchased movies. Reset all my network devices, the Apple TV, routers, etc. I'll probably have an aneurism if Apple ever ends up region-blocking me from my legally purchased content.

Last week my Nexus 5 went into a bootloop every 2 seconds presumably because its power button is physically borked. So I ordered a Moto X. And today somebody whose name I do not recognize apparently signed for it so now I have to wait for fedex to do their investigation crap.

WTF signs for a package that's not meant for them/their address though? You would think that within a few hours you would notice the mistake and now there's an electronic record leading back to you. Some dude named "E. Abakan" is on the run with my tastefully customized phone that has my name engraved on it.
