My boss's boss was fired today. CISO. I learned that "C class" employees can only be fired by the CEO. Is it a respect thing? Sounds kind of mafia-ish. Feel bad. I'm sure they were blind sided.

So I work in a small, 6 man operation that's part of a giant global corporation. One of my co-workers is breaking policy by having people come in fairly often to give him money or parts as a part of a machining business he runs on the side. Everyone else in office is turning a blind eye to it. I worry about retribution, but I'm considering saying something to my direct supervisor or to the person individually. Thoughts?

Between my trade and my sunny disposition I have quite a few mercenary conversations, but this morning I had one that was so bad that I had to sit back and think about how fucked up I am now. The worst part is that I was the one that drove the tone of the conversation. Retirement can't come soon enough.

The worst is when a boss of a boss of a boss finds out you have a (legit) workplace issue. But you might find yourself getting a raise out of it or maybe fired if someone owes them or something maybe. I'm assuming you're a good employee.

I'd just be honest to the guy that you want to keep workplace about the work if he ever gets distracted by his other business. And yes Kara, that's maybe the more pussy way of dealing with it but it's safer.

Never even got to see the camera. They gave me an anesthetic injection and I was out like a light in about ten seconds. Woke up later in a totally different room with the procedure already over.

Everything turned out okay, the problem that the ER thought I had wasn't present at all. Lot of wasted money over what amounted to a random infection, but whatever, at least I've got some closure on this whole mess.
