If this gets announced at E3, I think a lot of PSVR orders will be put on ice. Who would want to buy one when Sony is basically saying the OG PS4 will be OK for it but not ideal.

I think a lot of them are genuinely hurt. The idea that PS4K owners could have better hardware than them is galling. They wanted another long gen.

Will they, though? A lot of games for the PS4 and Bone suffered because of what seemed to be an excessively long period of cross-gen development. Destiny, for example. There's no way the big publishers are going to cut off the PS4 and Xbone so soon.

The Alison Rapp thing... the college paper is "whatever" to me, because as pointed out it was an assignment and doesn't necessarily reflect her beliefs. Not to mention it sounds like that Nintendo was aware of it when she was hired.

But there was a tweet from her that was really odd, something about being eager to expose her children to gore. There was no context, of course, so it could be totally benign.

I've never written a thesis so I have to go on what others have told me, but I guess it's common to be challenged by your professors to write papers arguing in favor of things you don't necessarily believe in and perhaps even find reprehensible. Rapp was kind of coy about how much of her personal beliefs are in that paper but people really shouldn't be put on trial for academic exercises, regardless. Also, and I may be mistaken, but I thought I read something from Rapp that indicated that NoA was fully aware of her academic work when she was hired.

Doesn't matter if it's an honest mistake or whatever, in a public company, you're out. No way that legal wants to take the exposure to liability once it's made provable that the company knew something about an employee. A smaller private company might have come to her defense or whatever. But a large company? Not a chance

That part of the paper was dealing with "virtual" CP made in Japan, the kind that doesn't have any actual children. IIRC, she called for stricter punishment against people who abused actual children.

I'm actually surprised they didn't. Especially after they went ahead and put all 3 FF13's up on PC.

Also, the conference had some interesting shit in it, but who the hell were those 2 presenters? They were kinda annoying... presentation was a bit over the top, best thing about it was seeing Sakaguchi, and learning you can play classic FF songs on the car stereo.

As for the Treehouse employee, it seems likely that GG huffing and puffing probably had some influence on Nintendo scrutinizing more closely. They may still have valid (relative to company policy and guidelines) reasons to fire her though, it's hard to know from an outside perspective. Yeah it sucks being constantly on trial by a group acting out of hate or bad faith, but without more information it's hard to really have a firm stance on her termination.

Also people pushing the idea that major corporations should monitor everyone and their "associated profiles" to ban them from their services if they're expressing adherence to an opinion movement
