Why are people so distressed by this ? There's a shitton of memes in each thread about it. I get that it's a bit of a letdown to see a long lost loved character being brought back as a bit piece but it's not even like at that point it's even a tongue in cheek middle finger joke like the Megaman in SFxT or anything.

I don't think this ends a new Crash game hope. One of the rumors was that Acti agreed to give Sony Crash in exchange for letting him be in Skylanders.

Never cared for them myself and never saw the appeal...but they were the Playstation's "Mario games" at the time.  Has nothing to do with Naughty Dog.  People weren't fapping to them until Uncharted came around, but certainly plenty enjoyed Crash and Jak.

It's too bad that Jumping Flash wasn't more popular.  1 and 2 were so good...and hey!  Perfect game for Playstation VR.

This couldn't be more true. I've seen countless threads that boil down to "this waitress/GameStop employee/etc seems to like me guys, what should I do" over the years. Those type of retail or restaurant encounters are the only time a lot of these guys talk to women. And they never expand their social net. It's the same endless loop of desperation and seeking validation online. TBH they don't want to better themselves they just want to know a lot of guys are as pathetic as them.

I used to be that guy. At some point you have to realize you won't die if you talk to a chick or ask her out. That's it. There are so many pervy or asshole guys out there that being decent, having communication skill, and being in shape will ensure you some basic success.

Getting a full ride to Yale is one of those things you don't just get and aren't available to everyone equally in the first place.

As for the other girl:

Gary Susswein, a spokesman for the University of Texas, said that federal law prevented him from discussing the cases of individual students, but he offered a statement that said that the university grants two-semester tuition waivers to all valedictorians of Texas public high schools regardless of their residency status.

California had a kerfuffle not too long ago about how all residents of California get to pay in-state tuition. Which is unfair. Because they wouldn't be residents if they hadn't come to California in the first place!

But then there's GAF wisdom:

The same argument doesn't apply to these young women. A spot at Yale or a full scholarship to the University of Texas are highly desirable and highly competitive. There was definitely a US citizen who lost out in those cases. It's a zero sum game.

But for UT... that's a state school, which means public funding, which comes from US citizens paying taxes. Which means US citizens are paying taxes for undocumented citizens to attend the school. Which is not really what the taxes should be used for (and it's possible that there are rules in there somewhere indicating that). Now it's possible that the scholarships Ibarra received are also private vs. public, which again I think makes it ok.

Finally, at this point they are both either 18 or soon to be 18. Go through the process and become US citizens. They are living here and have been here for some time. Why not go through the process and claim your US citizenship vs. boldly claiming yourself as undocumented?

I'd love a world without borders, without the stigma of "well they're taking resources from hardworking Americans," without terrorists, without the ominous possibility of a Trump presidency. But we don't live in a perfect world.

Seems to me the best recourse here is for them to become US citizens, or at least get visas. There is a process for attending schools in the US even if you are not a US citizen. Other people do it without sneaking over the border.
