There's a pretty good discussion to be found in that I think there are a lot of people who would say that jumping off of a tall building to escape a fire would not be damned in the eyes of their religion, yet many of those same people would then turn around and say that assisted suicide absolutely is damnable. Both are acts of desperation - people facing inevitable death seeking a quicker and less painful end on their own terms. I think it boils down to the fact that we, across several cultures, still believe deep down that if you get sick then it must be your fault and that you must bear your pain until whatever disease you have has run its course.

I just don't think GAF OT is equipped for that sort of discussion.

EVA the TV show wasn't that good as a whole. It had its highs but it ended up being very mediocre IMO. What really made the franchise great was The End Of Evangelion. Still one of the greatest anime movies.
