Soundgarden was one of the few bands I really enjoyed out of the grunge post grunge movement besides Nirvana.

I've only ever seen him with Audioslave, so my conclusion is that he must finally have listened to the recordings of Audioslave, attempting to perform RATM songs.

So apparently Chris Cornell might have killed himself. Last recording of him is adding a "My Time Of Dying" cover to Slaves & Bulldozers to end a set, so if true he essentially performed a suicide note. You can watch the performance here if you want:

Moore was my favorite Bond though he was more the world classiest and boldest grandpa in this role and the films never really amounted to a lot (apart from the first half of the Spy who loved me and Moonraker). Also a riot in the Persuaders and the Saint. Plus the dude always seemed pretty endearing as a person.

Oh my goodness, one of my favorite actresses of all time, Glenne Headly passed away. She was 62.

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels' Miss Janet Colgate.

Dick Tracy's Tess Trueheart.

She played opportunistic defender Allison Crowe in The Night Of.

I am really shook. To a lot of people she was always on the periphery but I always felt she brought so much to every role she played in. I really loved her.

While I was in LA they had a really touching memorial to Mr. West. They lit up the sky with the bat signal for all to see. I was at the Griffith park observatory and you could hear people honking the batman theme. The lights of surrounding studios lit up in solidarity. One hell of an awesome night.

I also got to see the original bat mobile at the peterson museum of automotive history. It was one of several, but you get to touch it with gloves in the vault tour.

The Right Stuff.  :(

I actively seek out his latter day work because he was awesome even when he only had like a five or ten minute role.

Bloodline
Midnight Special
Out of the Furnace
August Osage County
Mud
Killing Them Softly
Blackthorn
Brothers
Jesse James
Black Hawk Down

I tend to give them a pass for putting in the work already when they were young but it's mind-boggling* to me that De Niro and Pacino can't/won't stumble into parts like these even accidentally considering how often they work.

*Not actually a mystery.

RIP Tobe Hooper.

We know the classics, but personally, my favorite movie by him is Funhouse. It's probably paced a lottle too slowly for most people, but I think it perfectly captures the atmosphere it's going for.

I also kinda like TCM2 more than the original even though it also has it's share of pacing issues.

I know its cool to give all the credit for Poltergeist to Spielberg, but its two things that came naturally to Hooper that Stevie has mostly resisted throughout his career. Its really strange, and its really mean. Its as much a pull-no-punches horror film as can be made with a PG rating (but then again 82' had different standards).

I do like Tobe Hooper most for his weird as shit movies. Lifeforce existing, even the in the midst of the cocaine awash 80's is a marvel, and The Mangler starts out at crazy and further escalates from there. And because its been so imitated, its easy to forget just how much of a bolt from the blue TCM must have been in its day.

I gotta watch Invaders From Mars, been meaning to get to that. Now I've got another reason.

RIP, dude was great.

Sure feels like Twin Peaks S3 killed everyone. Is there any other show/movie where so many of the cast died within a year of making it? At this rate if they do a S4 there'll be no one left.

Is it right to say that Harry Dean Stanton aged extremely well if he always seemed to look like a dude in his sixties, even when he was 'young'?

But he was always a welcome presence. Roger Ebert had the Stanton/Walsh rule, any movie with Harry Dean Stanton or M. Emmet Walsh would be at least somewhat worthwhile. Its a good rule, the guy was just incapable of being inauthentic. A WWII vet who was in Hollywood for sixty years but never came close to any sort of bullshit. That's an accomplishment.

To go along with that:

Quote
Lynch appeared in the 2012 documentary "Harry Dean Stanton: Partly Fiction."

"How would you like to be remembered?" Lynch asked.

"It doesn't matter," Stanton said, who often greeted interviewers' questions with short answers.
