"Understandably people dislike him especially around NeoGaf especially because Lieberman and Hillary Clinton were the faces of anti-videogame legislation/activity throughout the 1990s and 2000s."
No, it is not understandable for people in their 30s (or older) to hate a man who tried (and failed) to ban violent video games 20+ years ago. At all.
In fairness, Lieberman only left the Senate in 2011 and he was still supporting such things along with SOPA/PIPA/etc.
Under your logic we should overlook this in Hillary's past:
The United States Family Entertainment Protection Act (FEPA) was a bill introduced by Senator Hillary Clinton (D-NY), and co-sponsored by Senators Joe Lieberman (D-CT), Tim Johnson (D-SD) and Evan Bayh (D-IN) on November 29, 2005. The bill called for a federal mandate enforcement of the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) ratings system for video games in order to protect children from inappropriate content.
The FEPA would have imposed fines of US$1000 or 100 hours of community service for a first time offense of selling a "Mature" or "Adult-Only" rated video game to a minor, and $5000 or 500 hours for each subsequent offense. The bill also called for a FTC investigation into the ESRB to ascertain whether they have been properly rating games.
Or the fact that she said this:
“Violent video games increase aggressive behavior as much as lead exposure decreases children’s IQ scores,” Clinton said. “We need to treat violent video games the way we treat alcohol, tobacco, and pornography.”
Or this:
"When I am President, I will work to protect children from inappropriate video game content,"
When all of that was before 2008. Well before Joe Lieberman left the Senate. So take your Berniebro talking points elsewhere because around here we pay attention when major events in our country's history like Gamergate happen and are ready to Enlist, Resist, Subsist, Insist, Dismiss, and Blacklist Onward Together. Read up on it kiddo.
