2K HQ was very keen on relocating staff to the more expensive Novato office to add to their 150+ person strong “Hanger 13” studio. Hanger 13 spent many years and many 10s of millions of dollars creating “Mafia III” which has recently tanked in reviews and has no hope of ever making its money back (it needs to sell ~8 million full price units to make up for its expenses, it has so far sold well under 1 million units).

Source for this has an obvious axe to grind with 2K. That said, comically unreasonable publisher expectations are a thing : IIRC Capcom expected RE6 to do more than its 5 or 6 millions, same for DMC despite those series never generating such numbers.

I think its a matter of not understanding what the phrase "ad-hominem" means, and probably believing the phrase "easily manipulated" is a synonym for idiot. I don't believe I am the only one with the facts, which is why I provided several links filled with facts to digest and invite anyone to counter this with 'facts' of their own. Instead, after I demonstrate my argument the response is condescending 'I won't waste time of my life actually forming an argument, you win the debate!' and more hand waving bullshit.

If you don't want people to deconstruct your comments, then this clearly the wrong place for you. It's a discussion forum, and false claims aren't going to be allowed to just stand for no reason.
