Every Vietnamese place around here has chopsticks at the table.  It's not like people are smuggling them in to take photos with their food as they make Jerry Lewis CHING CHONG WING WONG faces.

Besides, chopsticks are great with pho.  Who cares if it's not period accurate or whatever.  Eating spaghetti with chopsticks is rad, too.  If that sends some dipshit off to Tumblr to pound out their rage then fuck them.

Of course that article was written by some Portlandia douchecanoe.  Keep your people in check, Robby Bobberts.

Quote from: Dr. Black Jack;231411190
Seriously, this bums me out so much.  Every console Nintendo has ever made sans the Virtual Boy has had its own exclusive Zelda game during its tenure, but with the crossgen launch of BotW the Wii U loses its chance at one.  We got two HD remakes and its intended exclusive got bumped to Switch to bolster the launch lineup.  I mean, I don't blame them, it's just sad and really shows how dire the Wii U's retail situation was.

NES: The Legend of Zelda, Zelda II
SNES: A Link to the Past
Game Boy: Link's Awakening
N64: Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask
Game Boy Color: Oracle of Seasons/Ages
GameCube: Wind Waker, Four Swords
GBA: Minish Cap
DS: Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks
Wii: Skyward Sword
3DS: A Link Between Worlds, Triforce Heroes

My favorite console done dirty for the good of the company.  RIP mayne
Quote from: Dr. Black Jack;231423208
Just see below, jesus.

Exclusive as in made for the hardware as a showcase title while it was the primary system that Nintendo had at the time.

Jesus fucking christ, let me break this down for you guys since no once can seem to figure it out:

The Legend of Zelda has been ported several times to other systems, but it was originally made for the FDS/NES hardware.  It was designed around that specific machine and porting it to another system doesn't change that fact.  The same goes for every game that I posted in the OP.  Taking a couple of N64 roms and throwing them on a pack in disc does not mean that OoT and Majora's Mask are GameCube games; they're just N64 games that are on a GameCube disc.  Taking a GameCube game and spiffing it up for another console isn't an "exclusive", it's just an enhanced port of a GameCube game.  Being able to download Skyward Sword from the eShop doesn't change the fact that it was built for the Wii hardware and designed around using the Wiimote.  Nintendo has traditionally used its Zelda releases as high water marks for its current hardware platforms and makes it a point to design at least one game per generation that lets the hardware shine.

My point is that BotW was clearly intended to be that game for the Wii U but the latter's terrible market performance forced Nintendo's hand and took that distinction away.  I'm not blaming them for it, but it is sad and as illmatic22 said above it's the biggest indicator of how much of a disaster pile the Wii U was financially.  I'm not sitting here raging that people can play it on the Switch, I'm just bummed out that the Wii U crashed and burned so hard that its crown jewel had to be shared.

Like, is that really hard to understand?

YOU'RE "BUMMED OUT" BY THIS? WHO FUCKING CARES

GITS trailer looked dope as hell. Who gives a shit about a character's name being changed for an adaptation? That shit happens all the time.

While I agree with you (and I say that as someone that was on-board the hatetrain BEFORE that trailer dropped), I think the name change is dumb. It's pretty obvious she's playing the Major but they changed it to try to avoid her being attached to the Major. I mean just look at the fucking ads they do with her in them. How else can anyone see her as anything BUT the Major?

I don't know who the Major is so I don't give a shit if that's not the main character's name in the movie. I assume that's the rationale they think most people will be heading into this movie with.

I mean:

http://cdn3-www.superherohype.com/assets/uploads/gallery/ghost-in-the-shell/ghostinshellposter.jpg

http://cdn1-www.comingsoon.net/assets/uploads/gallery/ghost-in-the-shell/ghostinshellposter_0.jpg (this one is hot, I need to get it if the movie turns out well)

http://empireonline.media/jpg/70/0/0/1280/960/aspectfit/0/0/0/0/0/0/c/articles/58adb782c4c08e2c07f53298/ghost-in-the-shell-poster-1.jpg

versus:

https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/51CXTT46NDL.jpg

I mean (going by that GAF selection anyway), even the creator of the Manga/Anime series thought ScarJo is the Major. :yeshrug So I mean, if they wanted to distance her from the hardcore or even casual fans thinking she was the same as the "main character" of the series, they failed at that.

----

As it is, I hope the movie is good. Because if the movie sucks, it's certainly not on the art-department.

Since the  Ghost in the Shell movie is coming soon, I've started reading the manga that was just re-released in hard cover format..
  • I love how humorous the manga actually is! There's lots of jokes and fun stuff! It's so different from the super serious tv show from a couple of years ago, or even the mid '90 anime movie
  • It's explained in the side notes that Major's cyborg body is designed to look as generic as possible, to easily infiltrate places. Also, other characters are obviously japanese, compared ot her, who has no typical asian facial features. Maybe neotokyo in the future has more white people. I don't get the shitfits about a white actress being used in the movie adaptation, it was like that in the original source material!  :doge
  • Major seems to be OK with her cyborg self. At some point she even wonder if she has died before. The movie trailer really seem to focus on how the movie Major is trying to find out her identify. I guess the movie will be more of an origin story?
  • I love how the manga curves you into silly shit (like the mechas A.Is talking to each other about their freedom and how they should revolt and then the story is about thai kids being used as mind-sex slaves by rich  dudes. That chapter was  :o

Anyhow, internet fandom is annoying as FUCK.

Now read part two. :lol

Didn't the Major fuck a young boy in a 2nd season episode of Stand Alone Complex?

OG GitS movie:  :obama
GitS Innocence:  :confused
GitS SAC Laughing Man eps:  :rejoice :aah :whew
SAC other eps:  :larry
GitS SAC 2nd Gig main plot line eps:  :rejoice :mouf
2nd Gig side eps: :jared :expert
GitS Solid State Society:  :mindblown :preach :salute :delicious

SSS is incredible but to get the full impact of the twist and underlying message you have to have watched the earlier stuff.
