I mean, yeah. I know people who write for all kinds of publications. It's all snippy and there is infinite bad blood, because when a guy flips table and leaves, there are only so many places to go to get paid to write, so often it's for the competition. Even among your own people, it's more like a good, uneasy alliance, because you know deep down that if cuts were to come (and cuts are always coming in journalism) that the people you were drinking with last week would chuck your ass under the bus so fast to keep their job - cause the industry isn't booming, folks. You lose a reporter job now, in 2017, it could be the last one you ever get, even if you're decent at your job.
