And then there was a poster who showers twice a week with his SO and wipes himself down with lysol wipes. He was complaining about people acting holier 'than thou' and that people shouldn't be wasting their money washing their bedsheets when they could just buy black ones.

A couple months ago my mom was watching this show "My 600 pound life" on TLC which apparently has like fifteen seasons or something, where they give these huge people lapband surgery and then never follow up because the point is to look at the fatties, anyway she was flipping and struck by the woman's gunt (though she didn't call it that sadly) which was pretty amazing and worth telling me to come see.

Anyway, for her "baths" she got naked on their front porch and her husband would take the hose and hose her off. He actually had this pretty sweet redneck setup to their water heater.

This reminded me of that for some reason.

i posted a link to the controversial video and a link to the channel, in hopes that this would gain further traction here. this was before the defranco video.

if widening the circle of people that could potentially see this video of child abuse is wrong, i guess i don't want to be right, but i work in child welfare and have a moral (to call attention to) and legal (to report it to authorities, which i did) obligation here.

With Something Awful, you pay $10 for an account and there you go. Moderation is lenient and issues probations for obviously terrible bullshit that doesn't belong in the sub-forum the bullshit is posted in. If you get banned, yes you can just pay $10 for a new account/unban. Of course, super bullshit shit-posters get shit on for being shit-posters even after they piss away that $10 to come back for more thread shitting. The community for the most part polices itself and the mods actually participate in discussions instead of locking threads and shooting dissenting opinions down.

The only downside is the $10 paywall but it keeps out the dumb fucks. Sure, you can buy an "official e-mail address" to make a GAF account but meh. It's more fun to just look and not touch with GAF since you're not going to get this: "This is a neutral ground where facts and evidence, presented within the confines of civil, inclusive discourse, prevail through careful moderation" from that forum.

To be fair I think his argument (beyond the pedantry of being factually correct on the the technical legal ladder of ownership) is that a subsidiary entity might have some agency and leeway, maybe that it retains its own corporate culture. I mean yeah all of the big stuff is gonna be reviewed and greenlit by Disney, but the nitty gritty day to day stuff is gonna be handled internally.

I'll be honest. I wouldn't mind Robert Roberts's opinions most of the time. The smugness tho.
