I'll be honest, I find it pretty terrible. I find it a hard recommendation especially after getting into the likes of Siege. It's the kind of game that only exists the way it does due to coming from a mod -- which is to say it is inundated with some quirky unintuitive mechanics that have just grandfathered themselves into acceptance.

Counter-Strike was a game that was basically brute-forced into resembling something competitive, as its original iterations were going for something more of tactical realism at the time, but it's been stripped down to the point where only one game type is competitively viable, and the weapon variety has for the longest time been something of a joke.

Going from Siege and Titanfall 2 to CS:GO, heck even the other TF2 is some serious culture shock

All this said, the game is immensely hard because of how long people have been playing. The community can be good but it can also be phenomenally toxic. So proceed at your own risk.

Definitely a piece of gaming history, though, so it's absolutely worth checking out. There's a causal mode where the stakes aren't as high, also - so start there.

I pretty much stay away from any forums nowadays, but use GAF as a news aggregator every so often, but I think I'm done with that. I just lurked and saw some news that one of the more infamous people on there is a pedophile, someone who would argue and lecture about everything, constantly.

It just goes to show how unrealistic these online personalities are and how different people act in the real world. It's gotten to the point even when you see people agreeing generally about something, that every little thing has to be nitpicked to death. And politics? Wow, it has to be interjected in everything. And even when you agree with the ideals, the lecturing and trashing others constantly just gets tired - constantly trying to find something to argue about. I don't see how anyone could reasonably function off the internet like that, and I guess what happened is a good example.

That's true, I do use it often for a lot of different things. I guess old habits die hard trying to keep up with news though. I'll even check out the old GameFAQs forums once in a while. It's sad stoicism is seen as weakness, as if you're accepting of his behavior, and don't go insane about it continuously. I feel like this happening over and over again is like the burglars in Home Alone falling for trap after trap. Going nuts over this means Trump's side draws opponents into yet another 'us vs. them' argument of what is fair press, free speech, what-about-isms, and so on. This is taking another trap on his terms that draws people into the whole perpetual 'who's side is better' debate.

It's a lot easier for him to garner support in that kind of fight, instead of things like getting answers as to why his budget cutting 2 trillion in taxes to corporations and top earning individuals will create any jobs, as opposed to hoarding it exponentially over time. Harass a magician about how bright the lights are he's using to distract you, and forget about him picking your pocket.
