Nu-Disco funk Queen 👑 the groove in the chorus is so, so good. It almost sounds House'ish but I then remembered where house was born from and realized just how full the production can feel when accompanied by a true big band.

This album is getting hate from fans for being less of a shred album, but man is it a great ride. Heavily instrumental. More stoner than usual. An album for tossing on during a weekend morning or afternoon.

So, some of you might be aware that the singer Jessie J went on 'Singer 2018' which is a Chinese singing contest and won it. I was listening to the songs she sang.

This one blew away. It is a cover of Purple Rain. I don't even like Purple Rain that much to be honest, but this version was great. Also the person who arranges the songs is brilliant.

The entire Global Underground "Cities" collection has been uploaded to Mixcloud, so I've been going through them in order from the beginning. The early ones were kinda clunky but the series really found its footing after GU006: Sydney. I've mostly listened to those in the middle (assorted ones from 6-24) before big changes in popular dance music genres and how music was consumed made the series lose its relevance.
